Cheers Mervil, looking on eBay, there are 2 others, both are higher miles than mine & more money. It will be re-taxed for 6 months tomorrow.

I've had some silly offers, Fud offered 8k & I told him to fvck off. Othe than that I've had offers of cars in PX & an offer of payment over instalments of £150 per month.

I will bung it on the Autotrader tomorrow & if it doesn't sell then I'll hang onto it for a year or so.

I have actually, trouble is, its waaaaaaay too nice to break for parts, plus I don't have the time. All it needs is for someone to come & look at it & it will be sold.

Good question. I guess it depends on how heavy your right foot is.. At a guess I'd say 25 mpg on a run & sticking to 70. It's a 2.5 with a turbocharger, economy isn't really a word that springs to mind

No but £10,999 for a performance car is, which is why I think its gets harder to sell. As the years pass and the cars devalue the price of fuel goes up meaning that those now in the market with that sort of money do have one eye on economy, even if you, when you bought it didnt. Then you think about the potential purchaser realising that he will pretty much be the final owner and you can see the problem. (Let me know if you want me to edit any of the above)

I don't need you to edit it, I don't really get what you mean. Are you saying it's too expensive? It's not easy to sell performance cars full stop. The price of fuel doesnt help, but if you want a Scooby you already know they can't be run on a shoestring, performance costs money. Buy a Civic diesel

No I mean that £10,999 is a very good price for such performance. I was referring to the economy comment that it followed on from, "economy isnt really something that springs to mind" (when purchasing that sort of car). Someone with that kind of budget is naturally economy minded which would contradict the actions of buying an uneconomical car in the first place.

Still think its a bargain though. Its torturous seeing cars like yours go up for that sort of money and not being able to take advantage.

Its torturous selling it mate, especially the lack of interest I've had. I'm almost at the point where I think its a give away & I'd rather keep it in a garage, however I've just bought an M3 & I want to enjoy that without the worry of 11k's worth of car left to rot in my garage when someone could be getting use out of it.

Its just a sign of the market today, not a reflection on the car IMHO.

I bet it is. I am dreading it when I need to sell mine. I keep looking at webuyanycar.com as a safety net and then start to cry as they will only give me £4800 for it. A '56 with 23,000 miles! (RS not STI)

In theory. The R Sport isnt well know and most people looking for an Impreza only know of the turbo models. For people looking at a 140-180bhp 4 door car Vauxhalls, Civics, Fords, BMW 320s etc are often the first and only cars that people think of.

I did until I stumbled upon this completely by accident. When I compared it to an Astra and Civic there was just no comparison and for the same price I got half the milage.
