Who'd bet against them getting NO punishment at all?

They TWOC'ed it, no doubt, they had NO right to drive it away.

If one of us had done this in a 30-40mph zone, Surely "We" would be looking at some jail time and TOTALLY DESERVED it

IMHO

I cant wait for the Police "Official" excuse

Throttle stuck, bad tyres, small front numberplate, Lexus lights and faulty Parking sensors. So the two police officers will be suing the Cars owner as it was ALL his Fault....

only suspended from traffic dutys.if they were supposed to be just waiting with the car till the recovery truck got there and they clearly didnt, then shouldnt they be charged for theft, wreckless driving.anyone else would have been thrown in a cell, sent to court and possibly jailed for what they did.

I live in the area and think I know that Evo.

Anyway it's a residential area and the cops must have been canning it to smash through two gardens and roll it like that.

Unbelievable.

It's a 40 zone on Hale rd, you don't do THIS is doing 40.

As someone has pointed out - as this was against Force policy then the officers would not have been insured to drive it. So who pays the £30k to reinstate the guys car?

The guy may have to claim on his insurance as it's theft

thats shocking,

i hope they sack the useless police scum and they get charge with every offence going, taking without owners consent,so that would be theft then as well?

if that was one of us we would get jail time,

I drive along this road loads and where the accident has occured it is in 30 zone and it's on a straight section of road. The whole length of the road is a 30 zone so there is no excuse. SACK THEM!!

Heads must roll for this- Period! They need to be dismissed and prosecuted for-

1. Taking without consent

2. Driving without insurance

3. Dangerous driving

The Police force need to show everyone that the law applies to everyone and that Police officers do not recieve special treatment

As has been said, who pays up, if its the Police it will drag on for years, the only losers here will be the householders / owner, he will probably have his licence back after his drink drive ban, & the car still won't be sorted.

the more i look at this thread the more i hate the cops.when i have just been done again for my poxy number plate being too small and i was driving under the speed limit and all documents intact.then they can just jump in someone elses car and joyride it straight through some innicent peoples garden causing thousands of pounds worth of damage and what will they get.suspended on full pay for a few month till it all dies down probably.

it really does take the pi$$, but it just goes to show that the police are well above the law and are not accountable for anything nowadays. its a shame we don't get to choose the head policemen in our area as this may shake some of them up enough to actually make sure there police force are not corrupt thieveing *******s, how many times have you had a plain clothesed police officer sitting right on your bumper trying to get you to drive quicker so they can throw the book at you. i've had it a few times now.

It will be even funnier, but sad for the owner if the drink drive charge is dropped. That's assuming their 2nd breath or blood comes under the limit??

He'd better hope the drink drive clause in his policy doesn't give the insurers an excuse not to pay out.

Being arrested for drink driving 'could' have voided his cover, even though he wasn't driving.

I don't know if the insurers could wriggle out of it, but being drunk can't help.

I've heard it's got bald tyres so the cops are in the clear.
The owner on the other hand is going to get lynched for it. lol
Hope he declared that Samco hose otherwise his insurance will be void.

Not that Im saying these clowns should be let off with anything other than a dismissal but Police here are still a lot less corrupt than most other places in Europe. Its a shame they seem to be catching up.
