Methinks they've been reading Hello and OK too much. Stupid kid names are okay for celebrities to call their kids and provides a good laugh for the rest of us, but not are not for Joe Public. Celebs can afford to send Fifi or Tarquin to posh, expensive, private schools where all the other kids will have stupid names and hence they'll be accepted. Maybe the OP does too

Where's Al Murray when you need him

I got quizzed by a bloke at work once, proper mancunian type, why did you call your kid "Oscar" and asked if he got beaten up, I said that he dint get beaten up as we didnt live in a pikey ghetto, his kids were called Peter and Paul, wooo, imagination there then !

My name is Mark, i am named after a type of smudge or stain !

Middle name is Darren though, so glad my mum changed her mind on that being the first name, my father in law takes the p1ss out of that, its kind of a slight dig at my background I think, not that I have anythign to be ashamed of, far from it, his initials are PNS, wouldnt want that !

I'm no physic, but I can see 5 kids getting bullied because their parent's thought it would be a great idea to name them weird names.

Swiss -- we do know Harry Enfield, his children are Archie Poppy and Nell btw

in fact Nell was born on the exact same day as Gala in the same hospital - St Mary's Paddington

Aha! Are we going to get your favourite subject of you living in Notting Hill?

I'm not going to have a dig at your kid's names, you seem very comfortable with them so I'm sure they will be as well.

When in the Navy we had a few nicknames, one of mine being 'Doc' as my initials are GP. Another guy was call Brian John - BJ - or Blow Job to his mates.

PMSL laughing at this thread. If it's a wind up it's very funny; if it's all true then it's hysterical.

Moon Unit Zappa and Dweeble Zappa were good ones all right, as was Zowie Bowie (who now uses the exciting name of Duncan, having tried Joey or Joe from the age of 12 in response to constantly being battered verbally and physically in school), but then their parents had the great excuse of being out of their boxes on pharmaceuticals at the time...

also for Gala we had Daphne -- but kept it in her middle name, she is Gala Daphne Clemency
