I notice quicker spool and better mileage on 102RON sport fuel. After each mod, you becoming to get used to it after about a week, and the modified car seems to run like as it did always.

Why do i use meth? Not for power as I get nearly 500bhp on Vpower alone which is more than enough for my build. But the spool and response is very noticeably better with meth.

Since it appears to be finally Summer (!!) I decided to give the car a full detail today. I hate cleaning and detailing, nearly as much as I hate doing the gardening..... however I feel the time and effort was worth it!

I just ******* love the look of these Newage Hawkeye's. It's one of the most "complete" looking Subaru's imo.

What makes me love this car so much is that other than the FMIC bling, it's so sleeper.

By the way...... it feels so much better now I actually have an ARB that is doing something!

Oh and it's just rolled over to 15k miles now... so I thought that deserved a photo to celebrate!

Just cheap **** mate.

Turtle Wax Car Shampoo
Two bucket method
Lambs wool mitt
Microfibre cloth
Wonder Wheels
Autoglym Super Resin Polish
Turtle Wax Tyre Dress

I've got clay bars and all that shizz, but that only comes out when I'm proper hard up for something to do!

To be fair I mopped it prior to Winter, so it doesn't really need much at the moment.

I nearly took it down the poles (that's how much I hate doing this ****) car wash...... but then I thought they would only smash my paint work up and strip all my polish off with that TFR ****e!

Hello, mates! Seems no news here for two weeks. So I am moving the Shaun's project thread up!

I got some news.

My md321T turbo has blown ( after the flat foot shift function was engaged (ignition cut strategy), I got some huge backfires during the shifts. Two evenings of taking pleasure of the quick shiftings and scaring the citizens around "what the f.. was this? who is shot?" the turbo splited the oil out and impellers started to thrum..

Not a cheap function it was engaged , but no way to go, I just ordered the brand new md321t.. Firstly I decided to buy the bigger turbo, MD321V, but I had to pay for the whole new mapping procedure again, and wait for a mapper for another half a year, so I am still on my today configuration. After taking part in local drag race event, and analyzing the log files from the motec ecu, I see that my OE clutch is sliipping in 1st, 2nd and half of a 3rd gear... I have to buy the ceramic twin plate clutch. What street model to choose, Exedy hyper twin or OS Giken STR2CD? The mapper advices me the OS Giken, he says it is just better in every respect. Any opinion about these clutches?

Why dont you start your own project thread Semion?

Flat shift with ignition cut only is only going to lead to one thing, a bloody big explosion. Thats what tends to happen when you dump a load of fuel into something then ignite it.

I hope m800 ecu have different types of ff shifts, if to change ign cut to rev limiter about 6200rpm, then no worry about the backfires.

I know some people here running their rb26, 2jz engines with huge turbos, and FFS is activated as ignition cut also, and no issues with the turbos for years! May be the problem is because of the ball-bearing internals of the md321t, they are weaker, of course, than the journal bearings? I tried to shift gears very very quick, as fast as I can, but still got that loudest bangs behind me.

You replied to the correct thread dredd?

We both use EcuTek Delta Dash, it logs and generates the figures after the power run.

I see they have supplied NEW Methanol - as opposed to what? Used? Secondhand ?

You might have saved a bit if you had got some low mileage Methanol, carefully used, never raced or rallied.

I still can't be arsed and simply doing this "out of curiosity".

I'm probably going to get a normal SUL map done as well so I can flip between a few to cover multiple possibilities / scenarios.

So it could be:

1) VPower
2) SUL
3) VPower & Meth mix

The service from Jennychem is pretty rapid tbh. Ordered yesterday and delivered today!

This is undoubtedly a very expensive way of buying this stuff, but unless you have room to take the bigger 205 or 1000ltr drums, you're pretty much stuffed. Since I don't do many miles (I did about 3k over the last 12 months) I doubt I would use it quick enough to be honest. 50ltrs (what I have bought) will last for 5 tanks. Let's say 300 miles per tank that's 1500miles. That will last me quite some time in reality.

Based on what I have bought it has worked out at £1.42 per litre! It will probably still be the cheapest power increase I have ever had (hopefully!).

I like the idea of sealed smaller containers as well.

I'm not going to be using it enough to be worrying about volumes.

Cliff,
Hopefully it won't hurt too much.

Mel,
Theorectically it should help by up to 10%, but if I've learnt anything it's that it will do what it will do. No more and no less.

I don't want it doing too much.... I'm still on the OEM clutch! lol

Shaun as a heads up remember that switching between plain fuel and a meth mix requires some discipline and in the case of going to the plain fuel setting also some time of transition so you can't just 'flip" (lol). What you could do is run at two different mix levels one for normal use based on 97 (say a convenient percentage) and one as a high performance mix using V Power, then everything becomes more simple. thats pricy from JennyChem there must be cheaper sources? I always used to use them and it worked out at a bit less than 90p per litre bought as you did.

David its possible to recycle and redistill meth hence the "new" tag to differentiate it.

be interesting to compare notes once I've done the meth bit, suspension first though.

cheers

Bob,
I'm looking to switch to meth with the most of a 1/4 of a tank of VPower left. 10ltrs of meth and then brim with VPower.

Refilling for same mix would then be done when either the fuel light comes on (with another 10ltrs of Meth and then brim), or anytime below 1/2 a tank and then 5ltrs of Meth with 25ltrs of VPower.

I'll carry 2 x 5ltr cans of Meth to cover both scenarios, fuel station dependant.

This seems the easiest way to allow for an element of choice.

Moving back to normal VPower map would be done when light comes on and brimmed with VPower.

It's another reason why I want a normal SUL map, so I have as much freedom as possible when having to "switch" back (I don't want to get caught short looking for a Shell station when running on fumes lol).

The price rapidly comes down the larger the quantities:
205ltr = 86p per litre
1000ltrs = 42p per litre

I know that Jennychem aren't the cheapest, but for the amount I'm going to be using, I wanted it from a known source and hassle free.
