Ah, so you are not complaining about scooby shootout, you are complaining about grudgement day. Why dont you go to where that event is run from then, the straightliners web site?

And i want my bit of plastic please.

For the main event, i.e Scooby Shootout there were 3 classes, Standard, Modified and Pro in 3 disiplines, handling, drag and top speed (the top speed was cancelled due to conditions).

I won the Standard class on the Handling course, and recieved no trophy for that. The Modified class winner also didnt recieve a trophy. The Pro class winner didnt recieve a trophy either. Same for the Drag course, no trophies were given to the class winners.

The only trophies given for Scooby shootout were to the top 3 overall, plus an overall winner with all displines added up. It was expected that they would come from the Pro class cars so Trevor used the Pro class times to give the awards, sadly the organisors made a mistake as i was 2nd overall on the handling in my Standard car, therefore i should have been given the 2nd place O/A trophy, hopefully that can be sorted out and i receive that in due course.

The other awards given as part of scooby shootout were for privateer entries, i won the top privateer award and recieved two gift vouchers courtesy of scooby clinic and Super Pro bushes, which was greatfully recieved.

All other awards given on the day were not part of scooby shootout, they were for the grudgement day event which was part of a championship run throughout the year. Had i entered that event also on the day, which was an option for everybody, i would have won an award on handling, but i didnt, so am quite happy to see the rightful drivers receive their trophies for that seperate event.

There were no awards given for non Subaru's running in scooby shootout, maybe that could be looked at for next year and give one award as the MLR do at their sprints.

The awards for the Scooby Shootout were published in advance, they were as follows.

Thanks very much to the organisors and to Scooby Clinic for stepping up and making the event happen, it's very much apreciated. Now can i have me trophy please.

Hi John,

I dont know what happened to your trophy, it was the end of a very tiring, very wet day, all after a very long week preparing 10 cars and the logistics of getting them there.

We will sort your well deserved trophy, maybe its been handed out to best dinghy.

I state again for Jimmy BFC, we did not receive any of the entry money or gate fees paid it went to straightliners the event organisers, we were not even aware of the grudgment day event taking place, you will note however that Trevor Duckworth, the organiser, did bring along a few trophies for that event, who got what I dont know as it was nothing to do with the Scoobyclinic scoobyshootout.

As Danny P states earlier, "dammed if we do and dammed if we dont".

We will sponsor it next year though.

cheers
Kev

I can see that now, so the problem was with Straighliners then.

Trev must have just handed them out and then whe he got to the handling, his santa bag was empty.

Well guys either way I had a great day, done nothing like that before especially not the handeling circuit and running the 1/4 in a monsoon was definatley "interesting" Not sure where I landed on the handeling circuit but I managed a 1.91 60ft and on to the fastest 1/4 mile in Class A which i was well happy with!

Was really cool to meet a few people off here finally, Brownface who seemed to be having as much fun as I was. Johnfelstead, Dude you can certainly drive! and Tony (T5NYW) nice to meet and chat, definatley can`t wait to sort an LM400 this winter, and thanks for the tip on 1/4, worked a treat!

Thanks, although i am pants on the 1/4 mile.

I always enjoy driving in the wet, have done ever since i spent a day with Don Palmer on the wet handling course at MIRA over a decade ago. Best advice i can give to anyone interested in performance cars is take some driving tuition from a profesional limit handling coach such as Don, it pays you back every single journey on the road, not just in competition events.

If anybody is interested I took a few (about 50) short videos and can post them up. It is a bit time consuming uploading them to youtube.

Here is one, click the pic to see the video.

Could we have a full list of times in each discipline please, and a list of all winners in those classes. As John has mentioned I think quite a few prizes were forgotton. TBH understandable considering everything and everbody was soaked through.

Regarding Grudgement day competition it was the finals and if you were competing in that championship you should have been given 2 numbers.

Paul Martin in his Evo was running 2 numbers so I don't know why he didn't win something - mod or pro depending on his tyres.

Guys,

This event nearly did not happen this year because of last years fiasco ! I twisted Trevors arm and spent hours on the forums to drum up support. So given the attendance in the monsoon conditions I am pleased with how it went. We can sort out the minor grudges for next year but lets just say thanks to Trevor and his crew, Kev and ScoobyClinic for sponsoring.

Personally I spent loads on preparing for this event did a round trip of 270 miles with 2 trailered cars for only one to run because of weather. Yes I could have got the drag car out but saw little point in risking it, my decision and I stand by it.

Roll on next years event.

Thanks again to everyone that put the effort in

Using it as an excuse it did crap? When did I do that lol 12.1 in the wet on cal1 (1 bar) isnt too shabby for a first timer with half a tank of fuel 3 amps and a 12inch sub and box lol.

With reference to buying **** tyres I've ordered new wheels and tyres they just didn't turn up in time so I bought some "get me by" tyres.

Cheers for the threats via pm too, careful what you wish for would be my advice there.

I thought my little grudge joke was funny, chuckling as I typed I'll take the big wuss one on the chin

I just like to do the best I can for the community, personally I really enjoy these events and have met some great people because of them over the last few years.

Well done to you btw, great efforts this year mate.

I enjoyed the event! Thanks for all the organisation.

One thing I did learn was.....I can't drive for sh*t!! Was my first time, so will have to get some practise in. Found it quite difficult 'seeing' where to go on the handling circuit really though, but with my practise I'm sure I would have learn't the course better.

Is there any results about?

Yea, I had the same problem as well, first time I've done the cone thing and found it a bit disorientating at times, I even got lost on one of my runs!

Just to put the Record straight the event on the 3rd October was going to be the finals of our Grudgement day series and a general RWUB

We were approached by the Subaru community to run the Scooby shoot out we where reluctant to do this after last year,,,, but with the overwhelming support from the Scooby community we where pleased to put the event on,,, we then got sponsorship from the Scooby Clinic and fantastic awards from there suppliers,, this made for a fantastic event despite the rain

As it was also the finals of the Grudgement day we had cars in just the Grudgement day event cars in just the Scooby Shoot out and cars that had entered both,,,, if you where there you will know that we had to move the timing van on the handling course because of the lake we could not keep numbers on cars because of the rain so im not realy suprised our timekeeper made some mistakes i had a full set of awards for the Grudgement day event but did not have a full set of results for it so if we missed anyone i'm sorry all you need do is drop me a line and we will sort it out

I would just like to thank everyone that gave there support for staying with it,, the Drivers you where very entertaining the Straightliners crew you where brilliant even managing to laugh under the worst conditions we have ever put an event on in

Scooby Clinic thank you for your support

SCOOBY CLINIC SCOOBY SHOOT OUT 2011 IS ON THE 22nd May at Elvington,,,,Trevor
