without a doubt, he either needs a rest or a reality check so dropping him might go some way to sorting it out as he can't get much worse at the minute.

Yes, he's always out nudging one to the slips FFS, surely the coaching staff have picked up on this ? but he still can't help himself !

Steady

I'd keep him, honestly, although even I am getting a bit frustrated. Saying that KP needs a kick as well.

Drop them both and bring back Bopara and Bell

Seeing as they all appear to be having trouble I'll resurrect my "keep Cookie" flag

At least we are batting first

Can any sane person please explain why you would elect to bat on a cool grey breezy day against a team whose previous first innings scores haven't even reached 3 figures? AFAIK the weather forecast is for a gradual improvement.

I wonder how many people have bought tickets for Sunday! Come to think of it, even Saturday might be optimistic at this rate! Why did they start this one on a Wednesday??? No wonder there are plenty of empty seats.

The sun was shining when they called the toss, as soon as we elected to bat the clouds rolled in lol.

As for Cook, he's shot to pieces, get him playing some 1st class Cricket !

There was SUCH a difference between the sunny and cloudy conditions yesterday, Broad got lucky with the sun really but he's not having a bad series is he?

I don't think you can judge Cookie from the performance yesterday, clearly everyone had issues in the morning.

It's just typical of England isn't it. If we win this match we apparently overtake Australia in the rankings..... so the pressure gets to us and we collapse.

Interesting graphic on the TV showing that we only left about 4 ***** from the entire innings. Attempted to play the rest when we didn't need to..... too much T20 having an influence?

I just think it is the aggressive nature of the team, no complaints from me, they just need to fine tune

He's right you know

Someone finally commented on his name on the TMS site during the 2nd test, you'd have thought he would have been outed a long time ago !

Bell would do it once and then get out for a duck....

I don't see yesterday as a bad result really. This series was never really going to be that interesting and it looked like we were heading for a 4-0 whitewash. Not the test of our boys character that we needed to prepare for the Ashes.

I think we've had a wake up call and now can prove that we have what it takes. I'm looking forward to it

I can smell Cook's fear from here, just cant see him making a score and since Jimmy gave up his record of never being out for a duck he has been collecting them for fun, so we could be 20-3 before we know it.

Very interesting day ahead

A brilliant quote from the BBC again for you....

"As was the case in 1770, Captain Cook has discovered the way to Australia. Great stuff."

Just what they needed and made a good game of it. Love the drama towards the end

Got better this afternoon, but the forecast for the weekend makes me think PAK will smash 400 odd and leave us in a heap of trouble.....

Awesome stuff from Broad and Trott

Any Johnny come lately 20/20 lover must surely realise that Test Cricket will always be the premier format, you will never get days like today in the short form of the game.
