What browser are you using?
And I don't want some complicated transfer/import system as I tried that with W7 on another PC and it was a real dog's dinner.

So if i downloaded Firefox would this mess up all my OE records i.e. all stored messages, address book etc?
Firefox is purely a browser, so it will have absolutely no effect at all on any of your Outlook Express stuff. Mozilla (the makers of Firefox) do also have an email application you could switch to from OE if you wanted to (it's called 'Thunderbird'), but it doesn't come as a bundled package with Firefox.

So what advantage is there in switching to Firefox? OE seems to be fine, quite quick for my needs and stable. David.
If you really meant Internet Explorer, as NAF pointed out, more security vulnerabilities. The reason being that virus writers and hackers have always targeted it much more enthusiastically than the alternatives, firstly, just because they know there are a lot more computers out there that use it, and secondly because it used to have (and still does up to a point, but far less so than in days gone by) more 'back doors' into the rest of the system.
If you're happier sticking to what you've got, just make sure you have a good anti-virus and firewall installed, and your Windows updates run regularly.
Sorry Mark if that was my fault. I use Internet Explorer for the web and OE for e-mails. I use Kaspersky and Windows Firewalls. I will hardly ever open an attachment or open an unrecognised link. Windows updates are automatic although I had to switch these off on my Toshiba laptop as apparently there is a known problem with Toshiba software and Windows updates and it would keep freezing (W7).

W7 & Firefox
I changed from IE to Firefox when I was getting 7-10 malicious spyware/malware programs on my machine every week. With firefox I've had maybe 7-10 in total over the last few years. I also find it's much faster than IE.
The only thing that irritates me is that there are some websites that will only display with IE. Unless they have something I really want or can't get somewhere else, I just close these sites and look elsewhere. what kind of cheap-**** webbies do these companies employ that don't do cross browser testing? Or don't the webbies care because their non-compliant plugins look cool and require almost no work on their part?

How about everyone just goes here http://html5test.com/ and posts their score.
222 out of 300 for me plus 4 bonus points. Webkit OSX

that is machine specific depending on what you have installed in addition to your browser, not just the browser on its own. On my work laptop my Firefox scores 139 + 4 bonus and my IE scores 12 and no bonus.Edit to add I mean browser customizations and plugins etc.

My Firefox also gets 139+4.... IE fails dismally at 27+0.
Since HTML5 isn't released yet, I wouldn't guage this as an accurate browser test.
We should rather visit a site that tries to install 10000 different spyware progs and you lose a point for each one that is succesfully installed

On my Hackintosh'd netbook running Leopard Safari scored 129 and no plus points. Firefox on it scored 126 + 4. The latest version of Chrome on it scores 197 + 7. Find it horrible compared to Firefox though.
