Dave off N.S.C.C has just spoke to prodrive. the are happy for this to go ahead on the date arranged, but....


only subaru's can turn up. he was WRC champion with subaru and SWRT. this decision is final.

they will open the museum and shop, but not the workshops. workshop visits can be arranged separatly.

so people, if you have posted this event on another forum, please amend to subaru's only (i'm sure some subaru's will have spare seat's if people ask nicely)

i'm going down to prodrive next thursday for a meeting to arrange further details alng with the RBF

Fantastic idea mate. I'll be up for this, as I'm sure plenty of people in West Mids Impreza's will be. Be sure to post this on as many forums and owners clubs sites as possible though; SIDC, P1WOC, WR1 Owners, RB5 Owners, 22B Owners etc, as well as all the regional clubs sites.

Might be worth contacting Total Impreza magazine abotu this too.

 

Think we have apready done a tribute for Richard with the Lands End to John O'Groats relay, the organisor of that great event was shocked to see Richards death overshadowed by the death of an Alcoholic footballer and felt something had to be done so he got off his **** and created a wonderful tribute in the form of the Relay. It was this event that gave me the inspiration to do the Gathering for Colin.

If it gets anywhere near the size of the Gathering then i would be surprised, That particular event only succeded on the scale it did because of 3 things.

1, Prodrive/Police/HA/McRae family/Council support
2, Starting in the middle of Scotland and terminating in the middle of England
3, It was for Colin

Inform the Regional Traffic Control for the Highways Agency, Local council at Banbury and Thames Valley Police as soon as possible of your plans as they have the powers to kyebosh the event on the day. Get thier support and they will help you in return.

I know that there is something big in the pipeline for next year that will involves Richard and Colin's Subarus' running in anger once again and as soon as i know something more concrete i will be along to inform the masses of something they certainly wont want to miss out on

Best of luck with your get together and i hope you raise loads of cash for a great mans cause
