nevermind everyone is playing rubbish so we will probably scrape through into the final stages and get knocked out in some semi ironic /face saving way then.
And maybe Zinedines been coaching them as welll ..!

iv just had a thought , can you imagine what might have been the result had we put green in goal tonight ..

Now you all know how it feels to be a Scotland fan....

Do crazy things like beating France 1-0 in Paris, then surpass everyones expectations by playing like pile of ambitionless dross against the lesser teams.

Sorry to see you guys picking up our habits but really hope you can conjure up a performance and result against slovenia and I hope the media and fans can get behind the team rather than ripping them to bits.

This abysmal performance has to be laid at the feet of Capello and the FA.
The manager took on the job knowing his brief was to get England qualified for the WC and to put in a decent performance in the tournament .
He is paid 6 million a year for this task.
He brought in his own Italian team.
The FA appointed this bloke .
He has failed to instil the necessary confidence into the squad - and they appear to be clueless with respect to strategy . Is this what 12 million quid buys you ?
His preparation must also be questioned .
Apparently 2 dozen ***** - identical to the tournament ball , were delivered to Wembley in February. They went missing stolen or whatever . He or his staff did not bother to get replacements until something like a month ago. So the squad has not had the benefit of practising with what appears to be a " difficult' ball .
Lack of attention to detail . Capello is paid handsomely to ensure no detail is overlooked.
From what I can see the team don't "play" for him . He has failed to motivate .
That is a fundamental part of his workscope.

What utter rubbish.

The same manager took a bunch of preening idiots and achieved one of the best qualifiying performances of this campaign and also one of Englands best. No nail biting goal required from a hero in the dying seconds of a match hoping someone else will lose.

The performance at the cup is dreadful, sure. Capello has to shoulder responsibility, sure.

But your comments are like the jingoistic media - back the team when they win, kill them if they don't.

Like Rooney says - where is the loyalty in the fans?

What a poor display that was! they had no sparkle whatsoever, no sign of them working as a team and no real attempts at constructive attacks on the Algerian's goal. They looked like a bunch of hopeless tossers just hoping that a goal was not scored against them! Totally lacklustre.

Capello was doing his pieces during the game and it is hardly surprising. They let him down as well as their country. What does he have to do to persuade them to move their backsides and give a bit in return for all the obscene money they are being paid.

They are like a bunch of prima donnas, paid so much that they consider themselves too important to put any effort into getting a result. We might well do better to sack the lot of them and find a decent club team instead.

If you want loyalty you at least have to make a recognisable attempt to earn it!

I can't believe how quickly Capello has become the villian, I saw 11 players who should take the blame.

BUT

for a bunch of players that are paid an extortionate amount of money per week and are one of the fancied favourites, the display that i witnessed last night was shameful, so i stand by my initial comments that they are a bunch of useless, lazy, overpaid, primadonnas.

I feel this interview gives a very good idea of what is wrong in the England team, and who the players feel is to blame.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/b00sv2wy

Forward it on to 2.42 and listen to the interview with James.

"Does he", "Usual standard", "Thats the way the manager wants to do it"

One thing Id like to point out is that the money aspect has nothing to do with how well a player plays for his country, its about passion and pride. Which makes last nights result worse in my eyes.

Its up there with the worst ever England performance Ive seen thats for sure.
A team that cant string more than 4 passes together without giving the ball away is never going to do well no matter what formation or manager.

Rooney keeps coming into midfield which leaves Heskey up front by himself , which is never going to get goals.
Heskey has got to go , Crouch and joe cole need to start.

Hopefully by some miracle they will learn how to play again for the next match. If we play like that against Slovenia they will win and its game over.

You can't blame it all on Rooney FFS.

Strikers need a decent delivery of the ball.

Personally I blame the press - they should just **** off and leave them too it.
I reckon England were sh!tting themselves before, during and most definately after the game knowing fine rightly that the press are rubbing their hands together
