another for the wire.... and prison break - the first series was epic and the follow ups were ok too.

hardly a mini series, but 24 is also good - and will batter its way through a LOT of night shifts!!!

Absolutely love that show.

Depends what you like, I like Brothers and Sisters, but that will not be alot of peoples cup of tea.

Liked Flashforward, but missed the whole second half of the series for one reason or another, so will need to find a way to catch up.

I quite like Numbers too, but no idea where I'm up to with that as I just catch episodes as and when. Oh, and Criminal Minds. Again it depends on your taste. And mine may well be crap, but it keeps me happy.

+1

'Luther' is 6 parts and has just finished on BBC 1. It was very good and it won't be long to wait for the DVD release

I second Dexter-A Real morbid, yet comical take on the life of a serial killer. Who happens to be a forensics expert!

A new mini series started in the states called The Walking Dead which looks promising.

Surprised it hasn't been mentioned on here but Boardwalk Empire is another quality series out in the states.

Boardwalk Empire is an American television series from premium cable network HBO, set in Atlantic City, New Jersey, during the Prohibition era. Starring Steve Buscemi, the show is adapted from Nelson Johnson\'s book, Boardwalk Empire: The Birth, High Times, and Corruption of Atlantic City by Emmy Award-winning screenwriter and producer Terence Winter of The Sopranos.
Scorsese is also involved.
