Done a few more hours today, didn`t get alot done really spent bloody ages getting arches fixed on and bonded/screwed to car.
Rubbed down side skirts and sprayed and fitted, fitted an inlet temp guage in the dash surround, and put back bumper and boot lid back on, few piccy`s of todays work.

Rear view, i love how she looks sitting here, Sitting a tad high though as no running gear. And also just noticed how wonky the dam subaru lettering is, thought it would look cool sprayed in with the boot lid, it would if it was straight, another kick from the ******* i bought the car of

A side skirt baking in the sun

Arch bonded and fixed in place......does the rear shock look a funny angle to anyone else here ????

And just a shot with skirt fitted, need to get body and front bumper sprayed next.

Iv really impressed myself with my spraying ability and found it quite fun to be honest, well untill i found out most matt paints contain cyanide lol, it`s all good i use a proper mask anyways.

I would also like to apologise to pete for leaving his workshop in a state.
I will clean it up next week mate i promise

Not updated for a while so thought id better get one done with some pics.

Got all the interior in bar the passenger seat and a few odd bits, wired in some switches ready to run to the syvecs, ie clutch switch wires, wires for als as i wanted a push button to operate.
ran in all cables for the inline bosch 044 pump with relay etc.
And finished the bodywork, well need a new drivers door but can get that anytime.
I must admit im not 100% happy with my spray job (done by myself) so may rub down and go over it again, will see, anyways a few pics.
There is no engine or running gear in the car at mo so thats why it sitting so high, the wheels are 18" lol, also she`s very dusty as first time she`s been out of the workshop for 4 months.

Not a great deal i can do now untill pick my new ppg box up in october also will be getting whiteline front and rear arbs with drop links etc in oct as well so they will be fitted, then its on with the engine build, which after having a chat with a very nice man is looking to be pretty good .

Engine is going of to tim at subbus at end of next month for a full on build including.

Fully worked v3 sti heads, i want to use a big turbo (prob the sc50 billet) so will try to get the heads flowed etc to suit.

Already got crower rods and cp pistons to go in.

Sti 9 nitrided crank so will need the thrust conversion, with acl bearings.

The new cosworth head bolts, the stronger ones, forget the name lol.

Cosworth gaskets

Cosworth oil pump

Tim asked if i wanted the engine built or "built" the latter being a full on build take apart plasti-guage, check, build, check etc etc lol to make sure all is spot on and perfect, i am going for the latter.

Also tarted up the inlet manifold

Got some new bits coming next weekend.

High spec monster 6 pot front brake`s
Some uprated arb mounts
Large flipped fmic pipework.

Have not updated for a long while so thought i better get on it.

Iv got a new engine coming after coming to a deal with rich@redline, top chap thanks rich

Spec is

Closed deck block

EJ20 CDB
- acid-dipped, media blasted and threads retapped
- rear thrust conversion
- 14mm head-stud conversion
- 0.5mm bore and hone
- faces skimmed.

Cosworth 92.5 mm stroker pistons
Jun stroker con rods
Centre thrust 79mm crank shaft
Cosworth 14mm head stud and dowel conversion
ACL race big and and main bearings
RCM uprated oil pump
4 layer uprated head gasket set

HEADS

V4 sti heads ported and flowed
JUN 272 deg cam shafts.

Will be using my phase 1 inlet mani with the parralell hard pipe set-up and turbo smart fpr.

Iv sold on the MD321S turbo and will be going with a rotated garrett GT30/40
This should spool ok on the 2.1 and with the head work and cams, i should make some nice figures.

Iv chopped out the boot floor and gone for a flat floor conversion and a rear aero diffuser, the diffuser is either going to be painted matt black or carbon wrapped, i have not decided on which yet.

I got a set of defi gauges and controller now fitted, got to make a plate to fit i the gap above the stereo to hold the controller. Think they look puker with the white dials.

Got the rear R180 diff fitted and the shafts in as well as lots of little bits and bobs iv tidyed up and fitted.

liking the build so far!! every build I read on the subie forums is a reality check for me... start off innocent enough and then all of a sudden you are upgrading everything and its costing 5 to 10 times your original budget!! let alone its gonna sit for 2 years to get built!! I will seriously consider having one daily driver subie and then one project car so at least I can drive one of them daily ;-)

good luck... subscribed!

Its defiantly not cheap mate and it is the cost that causes the build time for me as i have to save for the expensive parts for a few months, if i was loaded the build would prob only take several months maybe less if i actually knew what i was doing lol.
Thanks for the positive comments mate it does give a little boost to know people are reading and enjoy/ are interested in what i am doing.

Just read through your thread, and i take my hat off to you mate. As you mentioned, some people just leave their projects with tuners and say "no budget, want car back in 8-12 weeks". They are lucky, but at end of the day, you have built this car!

Well done

Thanks mate, I think even if I did have the money I'd still of done as much off it as possible my self as I actually enjoy working on it, plus it gets me away from the mrs with a valid excuse lol, kidding, I look forward to being able to answer people who ask "who built it" with "I did" especially if the car will be even slightly competitive. Again thanks for the kind words chap.
