Clause 31 of the bill forces through a switchover to digital radio from AM/FM. This means that ALL non DAB radios will be rendered obsolete and will require replacement. The government reckons this will cost us poor sods £800m. I think their sums are out having not considered the 22m vehicles with radios, many of which will be integrated into the vehicle management system and so require the dealer to replace.

You can download drivers for your network card that spoof MAC addresses. It encases your MAC address inside another enabling you to use the secure network.

I understand you can spoof something, but how would you know what to spoof? If you put a list of allowed Mac addrs in your router, how will you get to them to spoof? Am I missing something blatantly obvious here?

Geezer

I don't do techie anymore

But a bloke down the pub who's a mate of a mate mentioned something about sniffer programmes. From what I remember it scans out WiFi networks and then has a nice cosy chat with the router (tea and biscuits optional), during this chat the router lets the program discover the list of allowed MACs.

Personally I don't fancy this, not only is it legally questionable but you're adding dubious software to a fairly fundamental part of your machine which if it goes wrong leaves you fubared or compromised to malware.

I believe that a large number of (labour) MPs (well over 100) had been "whipped" to vote, but only a tiny few actually debated the bill - the rest hung around outside until decision time and simply said (under orders) Aye

With everything this Government do, it's all about getting a bit extra cash off the working man and testing out their latest population control methods, as the OP said we'll be like China soon although we'll have less civil liberties, scary times ahead indeed

They don't have to do much for their parliamentary pay do they, Basically just turn up to vote when they are told by the party and how to vote too of course.

What a charade they make of it!

The mac address is sent unencrypted across a secure network, hence being able to spoof the correct address.

WPA2 is not that easy to crack, unless it's a short/dictionary type password.

WEP can be bypassed by a noob in just 3 minutes.

Can be done in 2 minutes and that is using a random 15 character pass.

See this Wall of Shame and notice the huge amount of "red" on the side of the ayes - so no pressure have been put on the Labour MPs hey?

Also, notice the lack of Tory MPs voting against.

Disgusting
