To the Teins, not the loose nut behind the steering wheel....

Thanks for the demo Dunx,

I was really impressed at how well the Teins handled especially over the extra bumpy bits. I now feel a lot happier about the idea of getting coil-overs fitted.

Do you have to replace all 4? It seems to be the rears on my WRX wagon that keep failing, I just want something that works and is cheaper/longer lasting than OEM struts. So can I just go for two BC coilovers on the back, or are there better traditional struts I could replace them with? Or would having coilovers on the back and standard on the front lead to an imbalanced car?

I wouldn't like to be in a car with a massive difference between front and back and suspension. I guess the car would feel unsettled front and back etc

Cheapest option (and possibly more reliable) is just replace a single corner strut/spring for CIRCA £250. If you want an uprated solution (with a compromise on longevity) then perhaps go for the BC's at £650 all round.

If you could find a pair then they would be fine, as they are adjustable, you could even change the springs if needed....

KYB adjustables are a budget alternative, probably much cheaper than OE parts.

Thanks for advice. IIRC the OE parts are KYB, and are inverted on the rears which may be why they fail first. I would hope that KYB adjustables would be longer lasting - I take it they would also have to be fitted upside down.

Weatherman, Check the group buy section for BC coilovers, Bren has them up at £510 for a set if we get ten people
