also the branch prefix is 1894 that should show up on your statement with both payments... is that good enough proof??

Cheques clear in 4 business days (to make the money available for spending), but the cheque can be bounced up to 7 business days after cashing.
Bank Holiday Monday will drag the process out by an extra day.
