My next car will be . . . . .
1650 hp R.R. Merlin powered
Supercharged
and run on 100 octane aviation fuel
cos it will be a plane.

Well what a buzz I got out of firing this baby up once I was suitably attired.

First it had to have a quick service as they knew I drove a Scooby & might rag it.

Tight fit but I managed to clamber in.

The pedals work the rudder, the stick works the flaps & whatever you do don't touch the red lever.

Flick the 2 magnetos on. Pump the throttle 5 times & set to the start position. Pull the safety covers back & press the 2 buttons & release when the engine fires.

Hold @ 2000rpm then a little push to 2.5k followed by a push to 3k. Any more & we would be flying across the field. Mission accomplished.

Brian I just mentioned my R.A.F. connections, my dad's wartime service in the Lancaster & my interest in large powerful engines.
Oh & I bunged him the fee.

Not sure if he was the owner or just a demonstrator for the company that owns it & it is a replica so doesn't fly. It is trailered to events.

From: Happy that I'm back in a Scooby - but maybe I should have told the wife...!
There might of been maps but I never saw one.
It was a fantastic day and would be happy to do it again next year.

T'was good Chris, everything seemed to go very smoothly, cars were marshalled well and plenty of room for each stand/club, lots to do too!!
Just need a 'Diet Coke' stand for next year
Oh and book the sun

My only criticism of an otherwise very successful and enjoyable event would be.... don't make shiney show cars drive up a dirty dusty track before a show

How hard would it have been to use the main laid entrance that we left from
Not going to bang on, but the decision to bring the cars in from there was clearly not made by someone with a penchant for detailing
Enjoy your swirls people as the dirt that was on my windows from driving up that track was enough to fubar a nice finish if rubbed off paint !
