Where has all the V Power gone?
#31
All the shell garages we've tried around North Bristol and Yate don't have any. Esso haven't got any Super either.
Our RB5 is mapped for V power, so I'm pissed right off. In the meanwhile I'll turn the boast down (luckily I kept my Dawes device) and keep an eye on the Knocklink and AFM. It's going to take me a few hours to explain the lights on the AFM and knocklink light to my misses. Oh well looks like it's normal Shell unleaded and octane boaster.
Group buy on octane boaster anyone?

Staines on juntion 13 of M25 know nothing of a shortage.
I filled up three 5 litre cans to be on the safe side.
Cars mapped on V Power with 5 litres of Meth. Anyone in the same boat on EcuTek map? What you doing, just filling up with Tesco 99 and taking it easy on the loud pedal?

Shell are holding back on the product until everyone is desperate, and when it eventually resurfaces it will 10p more a litre. We'll all see more and more of this happening as the future rolls on and oil becomes more scarse. - Back to the horse n cart within 30 years!
Anyone know who Tesco actually source their 99 Ron from??
Tesco supplies its forecourts with Super Unleaded 99 Octane, one of the highest-octane petrol available in the UK. The fuel is a blend of 5% bio-ethanol, and has been available since mid-November 2005, at selected filling stations across the UK. This Fuel is supplied to Tesco by Greenergy.
Tesco has a 25% stake in Greenergy, who are investing in a new big scale biodiesel plan development due to open in late 2006 which will produce 100,000 tonnes of biodiesel a year.
Greenergy was founded in 1992 to generate and provide fuels with a lower environmental impact.
The company was the first low-sulphur fuel supplier in the UK, Germany and Switzerland.
Since the early 90s, Greenergy's range has included ultra-low sulphur and sulphur-free, mineral-based fuels, designed to reduce emissions of air pollutants in urbanised areas.
Today, Greenergy is one of the UK's largest independent fuel suppliers and has a 5% share of the UK fuel market.

I think it won't do your engine any harm for the few weeks we'll be using it mate. In my un-educated opinion at least!

By the way people, where would I buy octane booster? Halfords? Or somewhere more specialist?
As I don't think there is Tesco 99 available anywhere near me either, so will have to chuck in 97 RON....

Still sod all V Power around the Cheltenham & Gloucester area filled up twice this week in Swindon though and almost have a full tank left so the Scoob can take a rest next week.
Not risking any other fuel, the car's mapped for VPower and that's all I'm putting in her.

If people are interested and someone in the UK could organise it, I could do boxes of 50 bottles NF Race Octane Booster at £11 a bottle + shipping (I believe the UK suppliers are currently out of stock). I am in South Africa, and shipping from this side is expensive - I believe shipping organised from the UK side is much cheaper.
