make sure you still have the little restrictor in the bottom pipe of the boost solenoid

Close your spark plug gaps up a bit say 0.8 mm. Mine had a misfire when i put in a chipped ecu and closing the plugs up sorted it. Dont run more than 1.25 bar.

if someone has put silicone aftermarket boost pipes in and not put the restrictorbackin then that will defo cause overboost.
post a pic of your engine bay.

depends on ecu and difference between boost target and fuel cut. so yes it would be different from ecu to ecu and yes if you aint got the restrictor then that is the cause of the overboost espically since you are using a chip. the boost target will be very close to the fuel cut.

either that or the boost plumbing is wrong after fitting the new turbo
right i hve the boost pipe coming with the pill ,,,all boost pipes are in right place
so if i fit the new bits and it still cuts out can i take the chip out reconnect the j1 resistor and will the standard z4 ecu run the front mount intercooler ,,

you don't need to take the chip out you can just reconnect the j1 link and it will run as if the chip isn't there.

where abouts in bradford are you?

i'd take it to richard henry motorsport in west bowling..

but saying that.. in this thread alone you've taken the turbo off and on so many times.. you handy with the spanner?

take a trip down to them and have a chat, they'll give good advice and you could probs have a go at rectifying it if you can do it yourself.

well thanks for all your help ,,,,BUT ,,its stll not right ,,ftted today walbro fuel pump ,,boost pipe with pill,,still boosting way past 1 bar and cutting out ,
so im going back to standerd
its better to use the car [safe] than blow it up ,,i took the chip out of the z4 and re solderd the j1 ,,still the same
so over the week end im going back to standerd and we will have a sale on scoobynet
thanks to you all for trying ,,,
