im confuseed, the variant from power at wheels on run 3 and run 4 shows a 80 bhp loss and then a 100 bhp loss can you explain why this figure changes, its normally a 60 to 70 hp loss. the loss through transmission should not vary that much. still with all that taken into consideration i am still asstonished with the power at wheels figure. from a bolt on regardless of what fuel was used

The temperatures of tyres, diffs and drivetrain rise and the losses reduce hence why the wheel horsepower figures went up but obviously that doesnt affect the engine horsepower.
With a dastek dyno it measures the losses on the run down and adds them to the recorded wheel figures.
That last run was looking promising and I was convinced it was over the 600 .. but damn the measuring dynos - would have been there for sure on a DD roller I reckon.

yes - When the engine gets pulled out I will be getting some head porting and polishing and hopefully cams for just that reason.
It has been awesome just seeing how far a true bolt on can be pushed when bolted onto an effectively std engine. Just pistons, rods, bearings, liners and o rings.
Hopefully there is a little more in the turbo/set up to enable a proper full 600 with a bit of time of the dyno to tweak cam timing.

I'll be using this company when i get around to a build next year:
CNCHEADS - Subaru Impreza
Not the cheapest, but CNC control should mean a very accurate reproduction of their orginal piece.
