If it's the same thing as last time (I have a feeling it is) it's a lambda/o2/air-fuel type sensor that's gone, so that's not going to be cheap :/
Oh, and I didn't get the job, I was too good for the position.

Hey Chris what's happenned to yours??
I've had to replace both Lambda Sensor 1 and the idle air control valve on mine in the past. The failed lambda sensor didn't really alter performance just threw up the check-engine light and used LOADS of fuel. However the idle air control valve made the car stall or almost stall when coming to a stop, created lumpy accerleration and even wouldn't let the car start half of the time.
Let me know what's going on with yours mate.

i aint got any more pics yet H, you'll get to see it on sunday though i might pop up to you on way back from the scoobclinic for a visit, if you're in and up for it of course.
It seems that H&S sold me a catted downpipe, which means i have to throw the one away (well, sell it) so i have to replace it with another. Jeeze. Its going to be louder

I can't remember exactly what it was last time, all I can remember was the bill came to over £600...
It never cuts out (although it does get close) and it always starts.
The idle wanders about, at traffic lights and such.
The CEL comes on and off randomly.
MPG is a little off, but not greatly.
Acceleration is rubbish (yes, I know it's a GX, before some smartarse points that out
) and lumpy like you say, but I thought that was the 'hesitation' problem a lot of Sports seems to have.
Then today it was basically un-driveable, could hardly pull away (felt like you were in 5th) and all power kept dying completely, and it sounded a LOT louder than normal.
So it's at Oaken Subaru (expensive I know, but it needs fixing properly) and I've currently got a Kia Cerato, automatic :|

to be honest that sounds like it could be a comination of things
I know what you mean about wanting to get it sorted though, I've been to Oaken before and they seem good, just hope they don't pull your pants down too much.
Just found the invoice from the first time (dated 14/08/2009)
Tyre (+ valve and balancing, aparently it was illegal and they wouldn't test drive it if they didn't change it...) + Air/Fuel ratio sensor (22641aa100) + transmission neutral switch (didn't even know what was faulty!) + labour + VAT... £635.61. Robbing bar stewards >:[
You can get the above part (Air/Fuel ratio sensor (Bosch p/n 22641aa100)) from loads of places for £100 tops, including post and VAT, they charged £284, not inc VAT!
It's no wonder they can let me have a courtesy car for free!

Getting it back on saturday, then got to run it in (500 miles, which is just a week for me) so I'll find out what sort of limits I'll have on it when I collect it then go back down next week for oil-change and final-remap. That'll be it then, I aint spending any more on it for quite a while, though I'll have the confidence of knowing the engine aint going to go pop plus I'll have a load of extra power so that'll be good! If I do spend anything, it'll be on the interior. The missus said she'll get me some mudflaps for xmas. lol. well, she aint said, Ive told her "i want mudflaps for xmas".
They've rung and said it's something to do with the O2 circuit (did tell me the P code but I've forgotten) they're ringing back with the part number and I'll see how much cheaper I can get it. Anyone here able to get cheap parts?
Try a breakers bud. Theres a few on the internet and you might get it a lot cheaper than new. I work all day on the internet, I dont mind doing a bit of searching for you. I'll make a list of 6 for example with price, tel no and companyname and i'll leave it to you.
Right, your mission, should you choose to accept it, cheapest price on 'Air/fuel ratio sensor pn: 22641aa100' Best I can find is roughly £85 inc VAT and delivery. Like this one (this isn't the cheapest, just the first one I could find): http://www.lambdasensor.com/main/bos...tem=0258007084

, I dont think so. Ive got loads to do on the car anyway, so if the weathers nice I will be working on that.
