Hello.. happy chappy here
Finally my policy renewal with Admiral has come through. Multicar policy same as before, 7 years protected NCB. £100 cheaper than last year on the STi
And a good £100 cheaper on the Peugeot too!
Strange given that Admiral were really expensive on their online quotes. O well.. I intend to ring them to try and get it cheaper anyways

morning all best way to get insurance is to get traders policy i have 2 impreza 1 forester 1 astra 1 corsa 1400 per year, best move i ever made plus i can drive anything fully comp
But with traders are they covered when youre not driving them? E.g if one got stolen etc ?
I was always under the impression that you're only covered when physically say in the car driving it?

None of us tuners will do just head gaskets on an early car, as they 'always ' blow the bottom end soon after and then accusations fly about whose fault and why.
I guess the theory is that the improved efficiency of the top end overloads a tired bottom end, which hangs on for a bit and then cries enough.
You cannot make any comparison as to how a Subaru flat four works and survives and runs, against any other make of car engine. Subaru have their own engine dynamics and just cos another turbo car can get mistreated and put up with it, is not a sign that a Subaru boxer will, or ought to do, too.
I drove an old Evo 4 that detted its brains out in 3rd gear for about a year, never missed a beat ! Try that in a Subaru and you probably won't get home.

Im insured with Admiral, 22 yrs old on a impreza WRX,
I was insured with them on my octavia VRS, and they sent me a letter saying that because of my recent gocompare.com quotes they are assuming that ive already put a performance exhaust on and taken the liberty to jack up my insurance and if its wrong to contact them .... WTF since when has that been the way the cookie crumbles
So morale of the story is: dont run 'what if' quotes, cus Admiral will assume youve already done it. use a different name lol :P

No it hasn't, now you mention it. I just called and got a ringing for 2 mins no answer. It may be lunch, he may have taken a whole week off, l'll keep trying until l get an answer.

PS to the guy with a Trade policy, you need to be careful, as our policy we've had for years needs us to list all the cars we own or cover at the renewal date. That number of cars then governs the price. If you change the cars, providing the amount of cars stays the same, regardless of age or value, the policy works. BUT it also needs an assurance that the cars covered are at or in the premises specified, overnight. OR only moving road risks are covered and not parked risks.
It is also normal that when a claim comes in that the ' company ' that is insured, is actually a company, with accounts, company registration and so on. You know they'll wriggle out if they can when a claim comes....
Sorry mate.

Usually, - mostly; - for road risks only. I know of garages where they've had a fire and their 'trade policy ' hasn't covered parked / stored cars...............
We have over 300,000 pounds worth of stored car insurance here as well as road risks and public liability for when we are driving customers cars. 'Comprehensive ' insurance doesn't always mean comprehensive.

been working long hours and my bro is in hospital so that's come first.
I've been trying not to use the car anyway too much due to the oil use in the past week but David has said that as soon as I can get it down there he'll sort it out
