different league bud
That will look nice imho, there was a silver blob that did this and it looked nice
not long now mate, details will be posted asap, just waiting on something/someone to get back to me (worse case we will just have a breakfast meet for mid Jan and something special in Feb)

There have been times when I have missed the power on the lower revs but the sudden rush of power and the fact it is more (bigger turbo then on the classic) is worth it. Plus I have the burbble back.
Oh and if you need some mock ups on what the car will look like with different fog light covers let me know will photoshop it.
The meet sounds interesting, why do I have the feeling you are planning something thats amazing.

No mate the car is fine but let's be honest, it's worth more or just as much in bits and will sell faster. I can't decide wether to spend loads of money on it or break it and go jdm

What do you want to achieve or expect from a car?
do I spend the money on new turbo, injectors, clutch, flywheel, fmic, headers plus the other little things then a remap
OR
break the car buy a jdm STI which will be better equipped from the factory and have a stronger engine than the uk car and use that as a base for high power
I will want to use the car as a fast road car and perhaps the occasional track/drag strip session, top end doesn't really bother me but I would like something that boosts early and can really punch me out of a corner but is capable of doing the top end if needed (hence the sc46)
Tom, Headers, up-pipe, sump are all different on the twinscroll jdm's and good luck finding a second hand twinscroll SC46. If I were you and if I knew what I know now I would by a car already modded to your preffered spec.
although after a few insurance quotes I think I will stay uk spec as the insurance difference is stupid money
The problem with buying a premodified car is that you will never appreciate the mods done. The thing that gets me though is that it's easy enough to say you want 400bhp and all that, but do you really need it? Is your car just not fast enough for the road or something?
Too many people buy Impreza's and modify them after a short ownership, thinking it will cure their boredom or whatever, then they spend £1000s only to find that they still find it boring, or it doesn't excite them enough, or it's too much for the road, and track days are too expensive despite having justifyied £1000s on mods, and so sell them on. It's a proper shame to be honest, and more people seem to be doing it.
Look at all the huge builds on here that get broken or sold after a month of project completion. Waste of time and money..
I've got around 370bhp here, and yes I want more, but I really love and have great fun with it being 370. If it had 30bhp more yes it would be quicker, but where and when would I use the extra 30bhp to get me to 100mph 0.5sec quicker than before? Hence I spend the money elsewhere.. is the extra power really worth the £1000s to you?

well said costa i agree 100% id like more power in all mine but the cost could be 1000s i would prefer to spend the cash on a nice holiday.and know that when i turn the key it will start and run the same not gotto worry how far up the road it will go

Another option may be to say to yourself, "Ive got xyz£££`s to spend and then look at what you can get for your money. Twinscrolls and billets, etc are great but all add up on the final bill...
it's not that I don't like the uk car, it's extremely capable but as I've said recently I would like circa 400bhp which is where my dilemma has started.

you're all right in your own way and I do love the car but the plan was always going to be more power eventually, but I should mention that it won't just be power I'm doing whilst the car is off the road as I'll be doing the styling too. Nothing ott but just enough to make it stand out in a sea of blue
I think I'll stick with what I've got and just carry on with the plans I had made for it
if I'm not happy with the result afterwards then you can all tell me I told you so

Just out of interest what spec is your car currently running Tom?
Being completely honest with yourself can you handle the 300 odd bhp its already got (around bends to)? (Not being funny, serious question)

My car current spec
blob sti uk engine with
uprated panel filter
full 3" decat exhaust
coilovers
cdf droplinks
front upper strut brace
I don't struggle with the car at all (don't forget I'm used to rwd hairdressers cars with a turbo
) to be honest I don't push it hard too often but I'm wanting to do a few track days when the car is done.I don't really know what to say about me being a good driver because surely we ALL think we are competent drivers
and it's more of an outsiders/passengers opinion on wether they think you have any talent in my opinion.if I do feel the need to start pushing the car occasionally then I try not to unbalance it i.e do all your braking and gear changing in a straight line enter the corner smooth etc I suppose the best person to ask of my driving skill would be Andy
as he is the one I spend most time with from the club and we have been out for a spirited run occasionally
