I think the car on the left is Brockets car?, and he is using 18x9.5" as is Budgie's on the right, but as you can see his stick out a lot more???? is that all down to the off-set then?

Oh right as I thought, a 245/255 on a 9.5", but if that rubs then its a no go for me.
Trouble is the 9.5" look awesome with its deep dish look, the 8.5" I think is not so deep, thats the whole reason I like these wheels.
Try and wait for a answer from Mags, he said Rota are out of 9.5" at the mo but have 8.5".

You lot are as bad as the Fast Car feature with the surname typo
http://www.lowlifeuk.com/2010/06/fas...r-feature.html
That'll be BOCKETT'S Car
Get it.
Hi Guys i'll try and advise where I can. My inbox gets full of wheel questions so 9/10 times you won't get hold of me on there so post up on here or in my thread (Aggressive wheels now fitted / Members Gallery)
Mine are 18x9.5 ET38 all round I have to run a 5mm spacer on the front to clear the Brembo calipers which makes the front offset ET33.
I run a 225/40/18 which is a tall tyre to run for this look. Ideally I need a 215/40/18 or a 225/35/18 and a tip is Falken is the easiest rubber to stretch
I would recommened rolling the arches with a 9" wheel even more so with a 9.5". the last thing you want is to catch the sidewall on the lip of the arch. I haven't done this but i've seen it done and it isn't pretty.
One tyre I saw left me concerned with the integrity of his sidewall. If memory serves me correctly he was on a 225/40/18
The whole wide wheel 'Aggressive' look is kind of dependant on having a decent amount of drop. It can look a little funny on stock springs.

Thanks for the info. That was my other concern in that I may never lower the car, so its a bit 50/50 to what the car may look like. These are all factors to think about I guess, yes the grids look good but they look even better in the 9.5" or 9" versions.
Might say sod it and just get new tyres for my current wheels.
Oh by the way I brought this months FastCar mag purely for your car Ben, very well done and on your hard work, looks absolutly awesome

your look on the wheels is just what im after do you have a WRC arch kit on there or is that standard front and rear arch's
My car is a 2005 sti but i want the wheels to sit level with the arch not stick out past them
thanks ken

My arches are standard. I don't think the Prodrive Edition came with different arches from the Normal Bugeye STi.
My Wheels do have some poke from the arch and that's after having them rolled with a slight pull. Stretching the tyre is purely to tuck the sidewall into the arch to minimise rubbing and in essence achieve more low.
BTW guys cast your votes here please. Stanceworks Pic of the week.

the best fit would be 18x9 et30/38/35 running 2354018 on standard suspension but there are no grids in that size, boost ,fight , svn and force only , they are all great looking rims still and look great on the newage models
.

The lower the number the greater the offset. Generally when going for this look people go for a greater offset than standard

So...got my eye on some ET42 18x8.5" wheels. Bearing in mind my car is lowered 50mm or so and runs 17x8" at the moment with standard offset (ET53 I believe), then I *think*, if I've understood this right, then those new wheels will sit 11mm (about half an inch) further out...so given that they're half an inch wider, they'll sit the same distance from the struts (good) but will be an inch further out towards the arches.
If so, I doubt they'll work without rolling?

Thanks mags...and thanks for all the quotes you've done for me.
Before I buy the ones I've been looking at can you PM me if you can do Inovit Volutions in gloss black with polished rim (not the black ones with polished face) in 18x8.5, 114 - I cannot find them anywhere online so have had to resort to eBay
