Muslim bus driver stops to pray
In Malta the buses used to have a little Christian shrine at the front of the bus. At the terminus the replacement driver always used to honour the shrine as he got on the bus before driving off. None of the passengers ever found it a problem.
Mind you, in those days the buses were pretty elderly and the tyres were always completely bald, so maybe what the driver did could only do good!

Imgaine the Muslim pilots, surgeons air traffic controllers etc all stopping their work to pray - wouldn't happen and you have to wonder if there is an alterior motive to this act...
IMHO the issue is more to do with frightened passengers having no idea what was about to happen, after 7/7 i can understand this. The Koran accpts and allows its followers to miss prayers if required and you have to wonder why this driver felt he just had to stop his bus and pray to the prophet.

I can just picture it: A melodramatic women screams "He's going to blow us all up". Next thing stampede, and said praying driver gets trampled in the mad dash for the exits

Les; the buses in Malta were like that when I went about 15 years ago, but they never stopped to have a prayer. To this day I think their bus service is far superior to our local service, cheap, goes everywhere on the island, and pretty good time keeping, despite their buses at the time being mostly 1950's Bedfords, AECs and Leylands etc (I think most have drivetrains out of newer trucks as they were rarely short on power). Drivers often didn't bother using the clutch to change gear, just "felt" their way into the next gear - proper driving
What a laugh for anybody, what if someone who survived 7/7 was on the London Bus or a relation of someone who died as a result of 7/7 - i bet they would laugh thier heads literally off!
Maybe i am having a sense of humour faliure or maybe you should think a little more before typing...

Paul, I think you need to lighten up: Picture it as if was an outake of Family Guy and you may see where I'm comming from (And for what its worth; Family guy gets away with a lot more than that on public television! Even youtube allow it - YouTube - Family Guy - Palestinian Alarm Clock and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XOX34udwf50&NR=1 )
The op posted a Daily mail link (no direct slur intended). Think about that for a second; A closet racist melodramatic newspaper, that incites fear and hate. Hence that paper really could cause melodramatic people to run amuck due to the fear that these papers incite. As such I don't take the OP topic seriously; because the source is a joke in itself IMO.

They were as you say the good old buses, it was a lot longer ago when I was last out there and you could go just about anywhere for 6d! One of those nice memories from the good old times.

I don't mean this to make me sound racist or 'religionist' in any way but were I on that bus, I think I would have got out of my seat and drop kicked his head to try to knock him unconcious ASAP as i imagine I would have instinctively reacted to an apparent suicide attack!

dont agree with the driver stoping to pray but am sure by now people must know the diffrence between some one praying and trying to blow something up?
but then again its like every other thread on islam in hear same few heads with the usual comments
even if there's a few usual suspects missing

Really?
I suppose it would be slightly less alarming than if you were on a transatlantic flight, halfway across the water when a man wearing traditional Saudi garb (purely as a random example), stood up from his seat and knelt down in the middle of the aisle?
I think in that situation, I'd like to think that it would be a race to see who could incapacitate him quicker ..........
Is that too racist?

Seriously though, if the bloke really intended to blow the plane up, do you think he would bother to do that thus drawing full attention to himself.
Of course it is not racist to disable a suicide bomber.
