john,

Dawes is fitted, accelleration is certainly a lot quicker and the boost is more noticable, i got hold of a cheap (but tempoarary) boost gauge, it'll do until i get paid again, the 45k service bloody cleaned me out this month.

At the moment im only running on about 1.0 - 1.1 bar...ish (4th WOT)as im not too trustworthy of the boost gauge that i've got.

How far is your dawes screwed in?? ive only got about 3 threads left showing (1.5 mm bleed hole BTW).

Well I DID have mine in at around 3 threads left, I expect you'll find that you hit fuel cut when it gets colder (I did) shame as it really flew crazy bonkers style when it was like that.

I find I'm running around 16psi peak, 15.5 held
Really does make quite a large icrease when its cold outside though.

Dunno how many thread I got left, maybe 7 or so at a guess.
I'm after an AFR and EGT gauge next to keep an eye on things.

Gonna ask PE about this TEK2 ecu upgrade, seems damn good for £500 odd

A few questions as I've never been on an RR day.

How many runs do you get?

Do they tweak the car at all?

What exactly do they do on a run?

All good questions, don't have a clue..

Remember looking back at a previous large RR day and I think they were only doing 10 or 15 mins per car

I think MD has done one of these???

Question

Have you got a running order, or is it a case of turn up and get on ?

Sorry I didn't reply sooner boys, in answer to the questions;

You get two runs (all in the one session), the first run is to warm the engine, transmission and the dyno and to check for any potential probs on the ecu/monitor.

The second run is the one which they take the figures from and is used to max out the power and torque figures.

You can decide then if you require further dyno work, ecu mapping etc based on what Mervyn tells you.

Hope this helps, MD.

ps, It is a bit frightening the first time they strap your pride and joy to the dyno! When Mole and I first went, they said to me "dont look so worried", I must have looked a picture!!!

Oh, and they dont usually tweak the car when you go for a "power run" cos it takes time which isnt allocated due to the group.

In my opinion, you should have a running order and hand out names and order number to those that arrive, I have seen a few people getting "twitchy" due to not having got on when they thought they were next!

Hope you dont mind my 2 euros worth

MD.

MD, thanks for that. puts my mind at rest.

they're going to laugh on the first run as it'll overboost like a pig, unless it's fixed when it's serviced next week, which I doubt!

I think the doors are closed on this one now...
Last count the final number was around 12 confirmed?
(You been keeping count Chris?)

This amount gives each person plenty of time for their run.

See ya'll on the 4th

Any chance of a late addition to the list?
I was down for the RR on 27 Apr but my caring sharing employer had decided my Saturday would be better spent overseas

My car is still waiting for a new gearbox to be delivered and fitted. It should have been done last month. I hope it gets done in time.

Hi guys
Sorry for the delay, ive had some serious compter problems i ended up having to format my PC, hence why ive not been on here a while.

Anyway im back

Backing up what mega_stream said i think we should keep the numbers down so we can get more out of the runs.

Therefore I'm going to limit the numbers to 15 cars

As to date the people who have confirmed their place to me are as follows:

1. Me
2. Mega_stream
3. steve terzo
4. pete
5. Mark_h
6. markus
7. tweenierob
8. andy oakes
9. AndT2000
10. stuart 12

To save arguements i think this will be the running order as well

As you can see thats 10 cars confirmed which leave 5 spaces.

I think its only fair to say that if the 1st 5 confirmations (this thread only) from the rest will take the places. I'll do another list for reserves.

I'll also e-mail all those who have confirmed to me at a later date to confirm your place and give timings.

Hope this meets everyones approval

cheers
chris
