The excuse they use it that the announcement alerts the security services to increase their actions against such an attack.

All well and good, but why do they have to make the announcement public instead of just telling security about it through their lines of communication, unless they have an ulterior motive for telling us all about it?

Even the experts on TV that have been interviewed have said the alert is more for the people behind the scenes, and in the security industry, not the public as a whole.

Nothing wrong with knowing whats going on, and im grateful that we have that freedom. However an explaination from the people in the know, who made the decision about what the "raised threat" means would have been nice.

Lets see what happens in the house of shouting over the coming week, and see if anything gets discussed.

Because in the papers today it says that rag head Bin Laden is going to send "Glamorous" women suicide bombers to attack the UK.

Surely women rag heads dress funny too and therefore will be refused entry to the country by our highly trained security personnel

If wearing a burkah then they will be covered from head to toe (in public) so hard to tell if they are glamourous or not, only if they have nice eyes.

Really if that a$$hole binladen wants terror on the streets of the UK then 10 or so suicide bombers (vests and cars/trucks) up and down the country in major cities would do the trick.
Many men, women and children would die, huge mistrust and (violent)backlash against UK muslims + terror, panic and chaos on the streets of the UK.
