List price only from memory, however it does take into consideration any money you put towards it IIRC.

I'm with the Octy vRS TDi recommendations. We have a 2.0 140 and it's pokey in the mid-range. A PD170 with a few quid thrown at the exhaust and a remap could easily push 200+bhp and 360+ torques. Ours has a 25mm Neuspeed ARB to tighten up the back end, and running 18's and it's now quite a fun car, yet manages 50+mpg. The vRS in either THAT blue or the current stylish colour, WHITE can be a quite cool looking car. I also agree with people recommending the Leon FR TDi PD170 for the same reasons. For the same money the BMW badge will get you a lot less car. I'd only go BMW if I could afford the 123D M-Sport.

I agree, I'd be steering well clear of the poverty spec BMW's/Audi's. If you can't afford to get a half decent one, then look at another brand like VW or Skoda or something.

Another vote here for the Leon FR TDi. Had mine for 2 years and its never missed a beat and goes very well returning approx 40+ mpg as well.

if you are going to be doing loads of m/way mileage then a bluemotion golf is well worth considering. 55+ mpg easily at 70, (just under 50 mpg a little over). we had the polo bluemotion and it was a great little car. once we done 380 miles on half a tank! all motorway but averaging 75. down side though is the pdf filter becomes "clogged" with carbon if you are to use it regularly on short journeys, meaning a day wasted down the dealership. still, for short journeys the TDI is a great all rounder.

My parents were told to give it a good run over 40mph if that happened, same is said in my manual.

57 plate was when the change occured and the new car (apparently) had over 500 modifications from the old car.

You may have had the older car.

Easiest way to tell? The new car has the indicator repeaters built into the door mirrors and the new mesh grille.

I have driven both and the old car cannot compare with the later car.

Can someone confirm if you can choose white non-metallic paint on lease cars. I seem to remember you couldnt because it affects the resale value. Anyone had that issue?

Went to see the Passat yesterday, liked it alot. Just concerned the 110 engine would be a bit sluggish on such a big car.
