The forthcoming iSlate or tablet ?
No mention of iPod capability as yet, unless I'm missing something.
I think the idea is that it sits between the iPhone / iPod Touch and the Macbook. If you want a true mobile computer type setup you'd go for the Macbook, if you want something a little larger than the iPhone / iPod Touch, with the ability to use a word processor, spreadsheet and possibly other things, you go for an iPad.

Yes, plenty of "nice" stuff - but nothing that is REALLY impressive in a "I must have one of those!" kinda way...
If it's gonna come in at £300 then it may be a nice toy - if it's £500+ then forget it...
At least so far - still more to come hopefully, which could sway me... we shall see!

Ok, so what would you want to see to make it really impressive and why? Bear in mind my point above about the market placement of the iPad, and thus what other devices of a similar nature, if there are any, are out there?
One could instantly say "Netbooks" but do they have full touchscreen capability and are they tablet like, but I don't think they have or are.

Supports 3G, $14.99 per month for 250 MB, $29.99 for unlimited (yeah right!) data. All pre-paid, so no contract.
HOLY ****, iPad 3G models are unlocked. Now THAT is something special
One hopes that'll translate over to the iPhone.
One guesses there won't be an iPhone OS 4.0 release yet, as I don't see anything in this OS that would overly benefit the iPhone.

May be interesting when some bright spark brings out an iPhone app (for JB iphones) that'll allow an iPad to wirelessly (wifi or BT) tether to the iPhone... I don't want 2 mobile data contracts thanks!
But this, well, functional, okay, doesn't scream "buy me" like most other Apple stuff.

I wonder if Skype would run on it? As we know, it's wifi only on the iPhone, but if you jailbreak the iPhone you can use 3GUnrestrictor to get it to use the cellular data connection. Now, if you could do that on the iPad you'd have a nice $29.99 per month unlimited phone call setup. Who needs an iPhone. Ok, it'd look a bit daft holding it up as a phone, but it looks like it'll support BT headsets, so that might be somewhat better when it comes to the telephony side.

It's in the video at time index 7:18, does look like he is resting his feet on a table or something.
