went over to andrews yesterday, cannot believe the change in the performance. i think i need 7 gears now. the car pulls through every gear like a dream. before going to andrews the car sounded like the sex pistols playing live - raw & unadulterated. now it sound like the london philharmonic - in tune & powerful. according to andrews magic laptop i,ve ended up at 331bhp with 339torques well pleased with the result. the car was a standard sti uk with ppp. the only mods i,ve done are a sti genome backbox & a pipercross viper induction kit (but still using the stock inlet resonator box & air inlet)

his laptop can do anything, he was sat in the passenger seat with the laptop wired into the cars ecu whilst i was doing the "runs" 2000rpm in 4th floor the throttle upto 6000rpm it took all my concentration not to look at the laptop screen it showed everything from the coolant temperature to the battery voltage - amazing. and to watch him alter the ecu - valve timing - fuel ratios - the price of bread - on the graphs within the ecu just gobsmacked. if i could work out how to post the dyno graph from his email i would but i seem to have lost my grasp of anything technical at the moment just got back from a curry at the cinnamon lounge at horbury bridge too good for words.

Nice results.

Graph looks interesting - why does it die after 5500rpm ?

Not bad for an almost standard car, with a FMIC mine only managed 340 bhp a few ago...

A 100 cell sports cat might help her breathe more at the top end ?

Or is the intake strangling it ?

dunx

P.S. IMHO it takes about 12 months to get itchy fingers, and to start wanting more power....

Yes within 12 days an engine rebuild was on the cards, 3 weeks later complete, 12 weeks later turbo, injectors, exhaust, walbro, Intercooler etc etc was planned....

26 weeks later all complete just dont tell the mrs . I bought her a puppy to distract the attention from me hahahaa

Just out of curiosity.
As far as I understand, my 1998 uk turbo 2000 wagon isn't mappable and has to be chipped. I think 1999 onwards are mappable?
But the other day when I was messing about with my ecu, trying to wire up a rev limiter, I noticed that on the wiring loom that goes to the ecu, there's a plug fitted. It's just been taped up out of the way. Is this just for diagnostics ect or could it be used to re-map the ecu??

dynamix - it probably dies after about 5500rpm because i took my foot of the accelerator. the car was being mapped on the road the graph is a run from 1st gear upto 6th, and bearing in mind this was done on a dual carriageway.

The graph shows a single gear run - if there were up through the gears on that it would be all over the place and un-readable.
