H, not gonna be able to make this one as i am working on sunday till 15.30, and after i have finished work gonna remove my td04 and replace it with something that has a bit more 'grunt'- looking to do it in 2 .5 hours,then remapped next month,so should be good to go for the feb meet.

Hey lads ,i've had my scoob 14 months now and i was determined not to go down the bigger turbo route as i loved the quick spool up of the td04. I had contacted bob rawle regarding mapping and told him i was looking to get 280 bhp - which was the same as my legacy gtb. I also bought a 3 point boost solenoid to help things along .

4 weeks to go before the map and i happened to be browsing on ebay& I saw a guy advertising a 'mint' vf28 turbo which had covered 36k.I mailed him as the pictures he had posted looked like it was knew. After speaking to him on the phone for 20 mins ,he seemed coasha and told me that the pics did not do the turbo justice.He wanted £250 & as i knew merlin had paid £150 for his vf35(wtf),i got him to agree on £150.
Before you could say 'deal' i was hammering down the M1 in my honda civic to kent. 90 mins later i was at his house,and on his drive on ramps was an sti 5 type r.He then told me the reason he was selling the turbo because he had bought a new vf28 as he thought his was knackered.when he fitted the new one the car still continued to smoke like crazy,so he took it to a garage and they confirmed it was his rings.He then produced the turbo he was selling,i checked it over and it really was mint no refurb,no play up/down or side to side,no cracks in the housing, and all blades compressor and exhaust sides 100% intact ,and it span freely.He then assured me that he would not make me drive 120 miles to his house to rip me off.Before he came to his senses i handed over £150 and was wheelspinnin up the road.
Bearing in mind the td04 i have on my car is brand new and has only covered 612 miles since i fitted it ,its gonna be back on ebay where it will fetch me the £150 i paid for the vf - happy days
