Electrical problem please help

As you have a multimeter you could test the electrical terminals on the boost solenoid by doing a resistance check between the pins and the battery negative. Anything below 1 ohm is not good. Would it cause a problem, apart from low boost, driving with the boost control solenoid wiring disconnected? If not disconnect the wiring and go for a drive and see if that confirms the above test.
Is there not a sensor on the inlet manifoldthat tells the ECU what boost you are running. If so it could be a fault either in the sensor or with the wiring.

FOUND IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At last, found a wire that had the sheath melted away slightly and was touching so earthing out.
Fixed it took, car for drive and all seems ok. Finally got it on the road again

Could you post where the wire was as that would be useful for someone searching in the future - sounds that particular wire moves a bit under hard acceleration!

It was in the loom running along the front of the car near the radiator. I did check it before and missed it but it turned out to be two wires touching together more or less in the center of the loom.
I am just presuming that one was obviously a live and the other an earth. Very little movement of the loom there under acceleration so thats why its was not looked at that closely on first inspecton. Its got the original subaru ties in place and I also added cable ties to keep it away from the headers before this happened.
I would have thought it happened why my son connected jump leads up the wrong way. It had only melted the sheath slightly on both wires and was obviously not a constant join. At most I would have thought it would move a 1mm if that but that was enough just to get them to touch. Anyhow, moral of the story, hide your scooby keys from your 17 year old son.
