putting frozen windows in, in the snowy sleet this morning wasn't a barrel of laughs, but a bit of banter and a hot coffee made it more tolerable

Some charming policemen decided to put up a road block directly outside our house last night (we think to breathalise drivers) and had two LARGE spotlights shining directly on the front of our house until midnight.
It was like daylight in the bedroom.
To say I was not happy is an understatement - but I did get some pleasure out of knowing how cold it was outside last night!
Stupid thing is, we live in a small village and there isn't a great deal of traffic at night.....

This time last year I was doing maintenance work at the tower next to Barclays at Canary Wharf, on the 16th floor with no windows - it was like a wind tunnel!
I reckon all these pen pushers should try the building game this time of year

At work we have state of the art equipment to track the weather because of the the work we do, and it is not telling us we are going to have it that bad"
I don't think Mr D quite appreciates how much mileage can be had from the above statement.... and the 'Take no notice' in bold, has just mad me nearly wet myself
We do have a laugh in this club !!!
