i remember when it last snowed here. they grounded ALL london bus movements, and waited for it to clear. it was only a dusting. . i was happy because i got payed for doing nothing tho, .

When I were a lad the buses were sent out in threes, running in close convoy, non-stop to help keep the main roads clear. That kind of thinking has diminished in modern Britain
I just don't get how this country makes it through anything other than a rainey day.... If it's not a regular occurance everythign spins in to chaos and the country stops!

It never ceases to amaze me how the Met Office can predict global temperature changes a few decades into the future to tenths of a degree centigrade and yet fail so spectacularly in predicting general weather conditions for the summer months in the UK 3 years on the trot.
