Impreza classic instrument light bulbs.
cool, mine arrived and i fitted them yesterday,i have the early dials but with the manual speedo cable, from the pics above you all have electronic speedos so dials alot easier to remove,so i cheated and removed the plastic facia cover/dials/needles and fitted the bulbs this way, took about 15 mins or so,they look very nice, only downside is my greddy gauges are green dialled so changing the bulb wont do anything, but hey,all good !!
cheers

Very nice indeed.
I notice your needles don't light up any better than mine do, the little ones in particular disappear at night pretty much.

maybe the guy didnt do yr 10 physics either
The green cap allows green light through, but also some white, since it's NOT a perfect green filter.
Thus it will illuminate the needles.
On my 98 car, the needles are easily visible.

My bulbs haven't been changed yet, but i still have this problem, which is why i was interested in this thread.

Guys
very intersting thread
does anyone want to sell me the green caps for the dash pod and heater controls?
I have blue dials on the dash, hear controls and the 3 lamco guages - all very pretty but i'm a bit of a 'standard' guy and want to return to factory fresh. mines a 94 model with mech speedo cable
thanks

why do you all think its hard work to remove mechanical clocks. i have done it a million times now. (for good reason and my dials are white with white light
)
all you have to do is pull of the speedo cable from the back of the clocks and then when youwant to put it back on. go out side open your bonnet and remove the speedo cable from gearbox. this will allow you to pull it though enough to put it back on the clocks and refit. then just pop it back in the gearbox.
i have used 501 white led bulbs and they dont light up my needles. i have the silve lockwood dials faces and im debating to put green caps on the leds to go with my defi's
clocks back out this week i think lol

Hi just to hijack this thread can anyone tell me the bulbs that go into the heater dash (and how to get it out fully) and what bulbs go into the buttons around the dash ie: light up the hazzard, front fog button when you turn the main lights on.
Thanks

Heater dash, I dunno, but the warning lights for switches use a tiny wire-ended bulb, available from Maplins, around £1.20.

Just been looking at doing this to mine and noticed on the pics that 'The Rig' has his greddy gauges where the controls for the heating should be how do you control the heaters???
yeah, quite easy,as all the dials are electronic, you just extend the wiring to each "****" LOL as such and just make a new mounting for them in the glovebox, just used some carpeted mdf stuff and cut to shape of the glovebox and supported accordingly with a few bolts, looks sweet.
