I thought I made it clear that I despise his policies and actions in government and I have complained bitterly enough about the lack of really effective support for Our servicemen. I also remember them being sent to Iraq with unsufficient body armour and NBC protective clothing despite the big excuse for attacking Iraq being the dreadful weapons which there were reputed to have, and which they could deploy against us in 15 minutes or so!! Some WMD they turned out to have!

This affair is nothing to do with all that, it is purely an effort by Flash to commiserate with the relatives of those who have been killed and one that he did off his own bat and which he did not have to do.

Yes we all know that he spelled the name wrong etc. and that his writing is awful, just like mine in fact. That was a human error and although he should have got it right, it is still not an excuse for those who despise his governing, as indeed I do, to jump on the bandwagon. The Sun is a pile of excrement anyway and of course were trying to sell more papers.

No one can say that they have never made an error in their lives and there is always room for a bit of understanding and fair play for that matter.

I would never shake him or Billy boy by the hand, and would be more likely to say just what I thought, but I would not get any satisfaction from taking an unfair advantage in this way.

Why do you assume that to be the case? All the evidence seems to point to him being 'advised' that he should write a letter to give the impression he cares and did so reluctantly, almost against his will.

Thus the hurried scrawled appearance and numerous mistakes. It does indeed give the impression that he couldn't care less about the death of this particular soldier.

That scenario fits far more closely to what we know of the man's character and mirrors the consequent apperance of the 'letter' perfectly.

 

In that case why aren't there loads more upset relatives of killed soldiers coming out the woodwork? We know he writes to all fallen servicemens families. Or do you think he singled this family out for special callous treatment.

You need to work out which it is, you start the thread claiming the guys a retard now you claim he being acting out of expedience....which is it??
