Yup, I don't make a habit of directly insulting people. So I'm intrigued as to what I directly said to Lee.

Unless this was me making some off hand wide brushed statement that was somehow taken as a personal dig; I don't know, I'm just speculating.

 

The problem is it happens on here all the time.

It's tongue in cheek most of the time, but sometimes it is a fine line between joking about and having a bit of a swipe. I think people play the 'oh your getting your knickers in a twist' card in response because they know that what they said may be taken either way. So it is easy to defend your comments.

It can all be taken out of context very easily, and if someone had a bad drive home from work, or the Mrs has been nagging, or maybe *you're* (insert a great big sigh here for TelBoy being a bell end) just being miserable...... people can react very differently.

We all have an opinion, so respect others also.

If you can't play properly with the big boys, then I don't think you should be playing the game.

 

Seriously, i am not deliberately trying to be a pain in the ****, but ^^ this is what frustrates me SO much.

Don't get me wrong; I can be as caustic as the next person should the mood suit, but generally I aim derogatory comments in a more wide brushed manner; say immigrants, BMW owners (I still own one ), emmigrants (brit expats ) etc. And normally I'll justify it with reasoning/opinion. I don't do one liner insults like "xxxx is a c**t" (except in fight club - normally in reply to mr-impreza ).

Tel do you have anything better to do? You seem to be great at posting a reply to almost every post in which I make a spelling or grammatical error.

78000 posts in 9 years, an average of pretty much a post every hour for the last nine years. Of course he has nothing better to do!!

 

I keep being asked if i have "anything better to do". This is a thread i'm following, that's all. It could have been anyone who posted that, i'm not on a witch-hunt, but it's a perfect opportunity to show how EVEN on a thread where it's been discussed to death, it can still be totally disregarded. It just does my head in. It's not difficult to get right!!!

 

As much of a grammer /spelling **** I can be, can we leave the spelling & grammer corrections out of this thread. Start another thread on the subject, this one is about opinions, not spelling. Cheers.

DJ why are you having such a big issue over this? You sound like you have issues with certain other members rather than not being able to post opinions! Am I correct?

As you do seem to post a lot. So maybe my mind is actually wondering, what else do you do? Not an attempt to have a go, but just a general interest.

I have to say I spend much more of my surfing time on another forum which is much more robust than SN, to say the least. I prefer it to be honest - much more entertaining.

Stupid people/posts are treated with the contempt they deserve. Trolls and irritating people are given the tag "Oxygen Thief" which makes them much easier to ignore.

 

Hey Bro, what tags do you give to people that return to say "Scoobynets crap, I use a better site where everything is much funnier and the users way more intelligent!"

I don't have issue with anyone, this thread was started because I felt that if you go against the grain, you ended up with a barrage of abuse. This isn't just a personal experience.

 

LOL...I didn't say SN's crap - far from it. If I thought it was crap, I'd never come here at all.

How about a "Victor Meldrew" tag? Because I spend an inordinate amount of time moaning about stuff.

 

There are a lot of haters out there, look at my posts! I get called a troll for posting what I want to post because others dont like what I'm saying.

I think the fact is that people think you posted this thread as a veiled way of having a pop at those charity scooby tunnellers or something, but either way you need to be like water off a ducks back DJ and not worry about what others post about the things you preach.

I have a pretty thick skin to be honest, very little worries me on scoobynet. The other forum I use is full of very strong opinions & fools are not suffered, that said it is entertaining. Scoobynet is a great site, full of very useful info & some great people. I started this thread to gauge opinion on opinions.

 

DJ, well the thread had it's desired affect. Lots of opinions floating about now.

 

Thats a good thing, although this board isn't a democracy, it is built on opinions, as well as rules.
