Good luck with the car mate, sorry to hear of your trouble, i've been scouring Ebay etc for parts for my car so i'll also keep my eyes peeled, send me a pm of any unusual/modded bit it had if you wish and i'll keep a special eye out for them.

Hope you have some luck in finding it and the crooks who took it from you, these f**kers need to be taught a lesson and imo prisson nowadays just doesn't cut it!

Just a thought fella but this is the type of car they nick then leave round the back of Flats in a built up area, They do that to see if it's got a tracker on it then go back a few days later to see if it's been picked up!

Has the car got a tracker even if its old and you have some paper work ? Could always ring them and get it activated and then a 50/50 chance to hope it's still working in the car!

Did that with a mates car and it worked on the off chance!

Now posted on my forum!

To be honest with you buddy it wont be in your area it will end up about 20 miles away if not further. Or that is what seems to happen round here. "Bedford" Seems to be the hot spot for finding the Subaru at the moment!

There was even post about it on there I believe!

Just another thought but when my mates car got nicked he rang the local taxi company's to keep a look out as they are all over the place and if they found it he would give them a reward.

Worth a shot?

I too am a victim of a car crime and leaned a lot from it.
1: the theives read forums to target their next car. After all u list mods security every thing.
2: if yur keys are knicked from yur house yur car insurance won't pay out, and you wo
I'll go back and forth between car n house insurers for days.
3: the fuzz do **** all as by law every car should be insured. And there is so much car crime they can't dedicate time on yur car.
4: if u find bits on eBay like I did u have to buy them and prove they are yurself by serial numbers - I had custom piping with photos of the art work on them and this wasn't enough.

Sorry if I offend And I hope to hell u get it back but from what I've learned;
sell stuff from yur mums address. Keep all specs and security off websites and get CCTV.

Why you ask mate ? Has this happened to you ? they normally use a another stolen car to weigh up other jobs but on someone else's plates so they don't get pulled!

Dont think this is right,a friend has just had his 2008 sti stolen this way and the insurance company paid out straight away.

It's a gray area and always 50/50 but the odds normally won't pay out,

Hi mate, sorry to hear about your car. The exact same thing happened to me 3-4 weeks ago now. Im still going through the insurance process and the car has never been seen again.

I only had the car 3 months but when it got stolen i remembered i had the paperwork for the tracker, I phone Tracker but the refused to activate it as i had paid the subscription when i bought the car ( I didn't know i had to do this) I offered to pay the £371 over the phone in order for the to activate it but even after hours of arguing with them they said no!

I know exactly how you feel mate about hoping it will turn up but the chances are very slim and its probably stripped now!

This happened to me back in 2004. My insurance accepted the claim with no problem (we then argued over valuation for months, but that was a separate issue). Theft of a car won't be covered under your house insurance, and provided you have not been negligent leaving the car unlocked and/or with the keys in it, your car insurance has to pay out if it is stolen (assuming it is fully comp).
