Why are so many of you determined to turn this into a debate about racism against white people. If you are talking about the photo, then that doesn't in itself show a racist attack, unless of course facists are now a race?

that photo is like the tobacco industry trotting out a 85 year old smoker to prove that smoking does not harm your health

 

Firstly I don't know the context of the photo. If he was just a white guy walking down the road and they set upon him because of his colour then they are both racist AND thugs. If they just decided to shoe him for fun then they are thugs.

If however the white guy has coached it down with a group of skinheads from another town and was shouting racial obscenities at them, then who knows what the answer is? Maybe he deserved it, and would have done exactly the same thing given half a chance.

The photo was posted in response to an earlier post about mindless unintelligent yobs being more inclined to vote bnp, the irony was missed and the thread has been slightly derailed.

Back on topic I see the bnp's radio 1 interview has unmasked the dark underbelly of the bnp.

For the record, my post has nothing to do with that (I had forgotten all about it) and everything to do with the fact that you are obviously very narrow minded and arrogant (as summed up in your comment about the 'loss' to everyone of your contributions to the photography forum). If I continue to annoy you, will you stop posting in here as well?

 

I think it is best the the BNP man is allowed to take his place on Question Time, and that everybody who feels like it should be free to verbally let him have it between the eyes!

Not true, in my opinion. Most people consider a vote for the BNP as a protest vote against specific, localised issues with race/immigration. If the view was that they were a coherent political party with proper policies covering the whole political spectrum, but an ultra hard line on racist issues, you might be extremely surprised who your next Government was in the UK...

I have moved on and despite the PMs just decided that I really couldn't be bothered posting in a section where the tone of the posts were as per my exchanges with you. All that debating over the tiny nuances of the equipment when you could be out taking pics and .... well I shan't be rude so will leave that there.

As for my being arrogant about the loss of my contriibutions to the photography section well I am being quite the opposite as you will never know quite what that means. If I were to boast about what they may have been then that would be arrogant. I hope you can appreicate the difference although I doubt it.

As for stopping posting here not a chance. I have been posting here for over 10 years in one form or another so I think you annoying me will have little bearing on that. Thanks for posting in this thread though as it reminds me why I don't post in the photography section

That's why there are no coherent parties with extreme racist views in first world countries around the world. The two things are virtually mutually exclusive. The fact that you haven't figured that out is worrying.

What would happen to all the UK ex pats who maybe forced back to the UK in a tit for tat? What if countries like China and India refused to trade with the UK, or remain as military allies (the latter). Once you repat all the 'brownies' who will do both the highly skilled and unskilled jobs? Are you going to let Superstar do your brain surgery???? They won't leave at YOUR convenience, it will at their's.

There is no reason why foreign policy couldn't be formulated around a hardline approach. You might laugh at the options it would entail, but to think it's impossible is simply naive.

 

The Berlusconi government has some fairly "robust" views around race etc

although we could argue the point around coherent

oh and so does the swiss government (which is why it always amused me when Lewis Hamilton decided to move there, but at least the Swiss are financialy pragmatic around the race issue)

 

So you assume superstar is white, and therefore unfit to carry out any other task than sweep the streets? I'm pretty sure there are a few Brain surgeons out there who are of caucasian descent

 

I know plenty of Brits that work and live abroad who are in demand with a particular skill to offer. They don't go to places with no skills and dump themselves on the welfare state of that country and then expand into criminal activities. You tell me where an unskilled individual and his extended family could go apart from the UK and receive free money and housing.

 

I agree. Not allowing in unskilled immigrants to just claim benefits is not an extreme racist view, its a coherent immigration policy which I agree with. However this is NOT the policy of BNP, or not the full extent of it anyway. If it were, and as I agree with this policy 100%, why can't I join the BNP?

So I stick by what I said, you cannot have a functional first world govt that has extreme racist views. Just because the Swiss and Italians have strict immigration policies, it does not mean they are anything like the real BNP

 

A flippant remark on my part perhaps due to our earlier banter. However you have purposefully not full quoted me, I also said who would do the unskilled jobs, as these are often the domain of immigrants as the indigenous population is not prepared to do them.

And of course most of any skilled profession in this country is caucasian, but sometimes 10% + is made up of immigrants. If they were all repated tomorrow, how would the country cope? That's why the BNP's policies don't actually make sense in the real world.

 

Nothing wrong with a sensible immigration policy as we always had before, this is an overcrowded country with limited resources and to allow uncontrolled immigration, especially having made us a major terrorist target seems the height of lunacy to me!
