Did the required job against Everton. Don't think Owen impressed over 90 mins but he does make some great runs behind the defence. Cracking goal from Fletch. United need to put a good run together now and get closer to Chelsea. Hoping for an Arsenal win on Sun.

Still not overly impressed, Everton allowed us the space to flick the ball about, they came for a draw and got what they deserved.

Agree Owen used his brain and found some lovely spaces to drop into shame the passing to him wasn't of a high standard, so zero end result, talking of passing, I have noticed of late how many of Rooneys short passes are not reaching their target..

Although Owen hasnt scored he's getting himself in great positions. He's getting better and better with each game he plays and soon will be putting it in the net from everywhere

Fletcher, anyone else noticed how much better we are in the centre now he's back from injury?

I've already eaten enough humble pie this season to feed a small nation where Fletcher is concerned and I actually look to see if he's playing after Rooney, but what does that say about out midfield ??

I thought when Scholes came on for 15 minutes he was head and shoulders above everyone in midfield and stuck out like a sore thumb, we need a new Ginger Magician ! and a new Giggsy, because we will miss him big time when he finally hangs his boots up, I dont think people quite realise that yet, he is still a massive influence on that team and links the midfield to attack beautifully.

Why isn't Tosic being given more chances ?? seen him a few times and he looks pretty good down the left, I suppose it's a position where Obertan is getting a run at the moment, so no room at the inn.

Tosic it is rumoured was bought in the main to secure the deal that has brough Ljajic to United. He's meant to be the next big midfield player.... but then so was Anderson. These players are only young and as Fletcher has shown big developments can be made. As far as Fletcher goes I think he's a vital cog in the current machine but one that hopefully is replaced with a more creative cog as you say.

But I think you need players like Fletcher, someone who is there to stop opposition play and feed the ball to the more creative players. It was clear to see this sort of play was missed in the champions league final against Barca

True. Have to say I prefer Hargreaves for that role if he ever gets back to his best again after being out for so long. No denying that Fletcher has stepped up to the plate though and done a top job. We still need the central midfielders to be chipping in with more goals though.

I'm looking forward to Hargreaves coming back, he has that spark we need at the moment. Good free kick taker too

Obertan impressed with his running and his awareness of players around him. Anderson was very poor. Gibson aint going to make it. Jury still very much out on the front 2.

It was blatant obstruction which I believe you can give a foul for inside the box but I'd need lil miss wrx to confirm that? Only thing which the ref might have deemed is the ball was out of Evra's control and he wouldn't get to it but even then if it's a foul it should have a bearing on if the kick is given or not should it?

Poor game.

Poor game indeed. From the ref's angle I thought it would be difficult to tell if Evra had lost control of the ball but it was a blatant step across from the defender.

I'm trying to see Anderson stepping up to the mark and I thought he was going to but sadly this season he's failed to impress. I'm still holding out with him though. Gibson does not cut it sadly but I think he'll do well at a lower prem club

I think your crystal ball needs a service

I'm with SAF on this lad he will make it.

The Besiktas game was his worst performance so far for United, he proved tonight that he has whats required, part Robbo part Keano and will be a 1st team regular within 12 months. 12 starts 5 goals not bad going.

Hope I'm wrong. He's got an eye for goal that we knew. I wish Carrick had Gibson's ability to find the net. I'm just worried about his ability to get around the pitch as he isn't the quickest and if he can cut out the stray passes but that is an area he's bound to improve in.

Yup 4-0 away to west ham is a good result no matter how bad they are, they 'usually' always give us a tough game.

Listening to SAF looks like Carrick will be playing along side Vidic against Wolfsburg, while the game itself is not a must win i feel we could do with finishing top to avoid some of the other big teams that are struggling to top their group.

Aston Villa awaits next week and if we don't have two reconised CB against Carew, Heskey and Agbonlahor(sp) we will really struggle

Played Michael Owen

Not bad from a squad of 19 players that travelled which included 13 midfielders !!

I think that performance was fantastic and showed what depth and versatility the United squad has. Not many other (if any?) teams in the prem could have that many players out. Obertan looked class again...

I'd agree, the injuries are taking their toll on Gary Nev

Carragher has spent the last two/three seasons struggling, too much booze.

As for Terry, he's always been average
