Hi Bren,
What has been done to these mounts to make them harder?
Three of the rubber mounts have a Subaru part number on them

Its all to do with the shore hardness of the rubber. To do a straight copy of the original units including the same shore rating for the rubber takes exactly the same amount of effort to do the same job with stiffer rubber. Im assuming thats what your getting at, that these might be identical to the originals. However, like I say, considering the zero extra effort going into producing rubber with a stiffer shore rating it would be pretty stupid of Hardrace and ourselves to sell a product as uprated and then supply something the same as the original. It would be pointless and deceitful.

I dont have a Hardrace unit to hand but if its got an OE part number on it then that will be part of the proiduction process. The Hardrace are a direct replacement for the original bar with stiffer rubber. The easiest way to produce them is to therefore take a mould from the original, hence, I suspect, the OE part number if its found on the parts.

Its common practice, Even Nismo use the same mould for their uprated mounts as Nissan use for the OE stuff. Same mould, same part number, different shore rating for the rubber used.

Hardrace is a small branded line of products from a far larger factory that specialises in producing OEM spec replacement suspension and rubber based components. Thats what they do. Shore hardness testing and rubber manufacture is their bread and butter.

Proofs in the pudding, fit them and then tell me theyre no stiffer than the originals

Thanks for the reply Bren
Just got a little confused when the garage that is fitting them told me that the part numbers on the rubber elements are Subaru part numbers.
Can't try them out yet though as one of my header pipes snapped when I was taking the car to get them fitted

Is it a major job to fit any or all 4 of these..........i.e. Engine out?

How long would you say it should take for someone with the right knowledge/tools to fit the set?

Its a couple of hours to do the job, you dont need to take the engine out.

So the 2 engine mounts just need the bolts undoing and the engine lifted slightly?

Where does the longer bar type one with the bushes in either end go and is it easily accessable? Is this from the engine bay or from underneath the car?

Then i assume the 4th one is a gearbox mount? Is this just a case of removing the old and replacing with the new (4 bolts?)

Youll need to keep lifting the engine until the suspension has fully decompressed, as you support and raise the weight of the engine then the car will follow the engine upwards.

The longer mount is an upper gearbox mount.

The main gearbox mount just swaps for the original, nice and easy.

.
And is this done with the gearbox in place?

Does that also replace an existing mount like the other 3 or is it an additional brace over standard?

Yes and yes it replaces the standard component, its not an additional brace.
