The Official Ashes 2009 Thread
I Bloody hope so, Flag of St George on the wall behind the desk will do it, my Aussie mate was telling me in 2005 he awoke to find his pommie neighbour had drapped the flag over his car Giving them all a good spanking on the Fantasy Ashes as well
Wont these bloody Aussie lay down and die!
Gower wants a punch as well for suggesting we should be happy if ponting gets a few runs. Typical loser mentality of the English at work there. It's about grinding them into the dust like they did us at Headingley!

I've got some lamb for later..... be lovely to wash it down with some nice Aussie Shiraz to celebrate the winning of the Ashes

Bloody great day
No better way to celebrate today than a barbie and beer round my parents and all cheering as the wickets fell

Then a game of cricket in the garden with my kids
My 4 year old is bloody tall and a bowling demon, reckon I can develop him into another Flintoff/Broad

FFS Bollox

Why couldn't thay have done that before Tea, 5 tests, countless hours of lost sleep and I miss the finale, it wasn't 2005 but it will do
The highlights won't be the same.
I had to sleep I have had so little this week, and I only got 4 hours last night !!
Still I did stride in this morning as two of the biggest cricket heads turned the corner to a chorus of Barmy Army Barmy Army
Well I never thought we'd do it going into the match so doubley chuffed

Every radio statio DJ is seriously pissed off

Great stuff. But let's not forget that this was not a great Aussie side. Just compare it to who else was around during the great summer of 2005 in addition to Ponting, Michael Clark, Katich etc.
Matthew Hayden
Damien Martyn
Justin Langer
Adam Gilchrist
Shane Warne
Stuart MacGill (unused)
Brett Lee
Shaun Tait
Jason Gillespie
Michael Kaprowicz
Glenn McGrath
That's a team in itself!

I say nearly as I genuinley think that Warne is irreplacable
Delighted England captain, Andrew Strauss, said: "I always knew we would win the series as long as we matched Australia on a collapse-for-collapse basis.
"So you see, everything went exactly as I planned it. Yes it did. Shut up."

What chance do you think that England has of emulating that feat this winter? I assume that we will have Pietersen back, but no Flintoff, of course.
