I honestly don't see what all the complaints are about. I personally don't think that the forum is overcontrolled. I think that there should be rules to keep it all on an even keel, if people want to start making a fuss, or otherwise going OTT there is provision for that.
There will always be those who want to effectively make an exhibition of themselves for their own reasons and if they do that in the wrong place or the wrong manner then they can expect the Mods to do something about it. Probably what they want to happen anyway!
That should not preclude a bit of a laugh, all helps to make the world go round. There are those who are witty enough to entertain the rest of us and I certainly welcome that. Nothing like a bit of gentle mickey taking I say!
Things are bound to be a bit quieter in the summer anyway. I think that running SN down will only have the reverse effect to improving things.

Dunno about that StickyMicky, and EVO seem to like the new Sti. It's just a car to me anyhow, and if it works then fine. TBO, if a bit soft it still seems to work well on our s***ty UK roads, especially in the wet which is just what I need. It's also completely different and relatively expensive for the scum bags that see older models as THE uber chav mobile.

It's been debated numerous times already, Subaru ownership is a fraction of what it was 5 years ago, people move on, people die 
, join new bbs's, novelty wears off etc.
I don't think the site is '**** up', yes it's not as buy as it was, yes are less flame wars/infractions etc, doesn't make it dead imo.
I don't miss some of the 'regular' losers that used to inhabit here, Chaos/Mycroft/Audilover/Nacro and 100's that I've forgotten.
I'm not fussed either way, just get a little tired of the same old Snet bashing, either use it or don't, that's my 5 cents.

I can't help but feel (and this is not a dig at anyone on here especially the OP who I have a lot of time for) that sometimes if people put as much effort into posting something other than doom-mongering then maybe they'd enjoy the site more and the site would be a little more up-beat in tone. You get out what you put in.
What's really surprising is how some people (no names mentioned obviously) Berate, SN, berate the mods, say how much they hate the place and that we can stick our site and then not more than a few hours later, start a new account....surely, if it was that bad.......

, but I lurrrrrve scoobynet! It's so insightful, helpful, entertaining and it's members are the best! I don't know what I've missed in the past but as a relative newcomer it's the only forum I frequent on a daily basis.

It has always amazed me how many people come on here to just about utter rubbish. It amazes me how many members we have that come to talk about afore mentioned rubbish and it amazes me how many of them have nothing to do with Subarus.
It also amazes me how many of the above mentioned people forget that this is a site that was built to cater for the Subaru enthusiast. I think this site has gone completely down hill because more and more members just come here to talk rubbish that has nothing whatsoever to do with the reason this site was created. The new owners know that and now the site is geared towards catering for these people instead of the people the site was created for if that makes any sense.

I know nowt about Subarus, other than I have a WR1 and it is great fun. Is that ok

The site caters for various users, Subaru owner or not imo. It's only really NSR and the other Non Scooby related sections that will attract people talking off topic. I can't see too much of an issue there. That's what they're there for.
I don't think the more specific forums are being spammed with off topic chat, from what I have seen. Maybe stuff being posted in the wrong section at times.

Never owned nor have any intention of owning an Impreza and i think *most* Impreza drivers are ham fisted knuckle dragging descentants of Sloth thus Scoobynet was a no brainer for me.
