Massive Lottery Win !
i would pay off all my/family depts/bills, give each person and give them a good amount of money, enough to help them out for a long time. = 7 million max
i would still live in the uk, but would also like a house in japan, and america.
but the cars that i all ways wanted, and a winerbago camper thingy.
set up my own garage, with rolling road, and drag strip, would quit my current job, and work in the garage
put enough in banks etc to live off the intrest
i would think it would be all spent by now lol

I wouldnt do anything major straightaway, I quite like work and it would leave a big hole I would need to fill, I suspect for me, going 3 days a week would give me enough time to do what I want initially, I would hate to give it up and then get bored as there is only so much "stuff" you can buy, I have loads of "stuff" now and am a bit overloaded with it, I enjoy my ride into work on my push bike, even with 25 million I would still enjoy that but wouldnt have any motivation to get up and get on it if I didnt work.
I dont think I would rush to move house, I like where we are, its a decent size, big garden but I would spend money on it and probably buy somewhere else, perhaps build from scratch but I know people who live in big places in the sticks and sometimes they seem isolated and no happier than me, we have house sat in a big place with a pool and it was nice but I am not sure it would suit me long term, its just not what I am used to, just like the country dweller may struggle in an urban setting.
I think if you get everything done for you, you miss out on some of the satisfaction you get from doing things, I dont mind decorating really as I like the end result, its quite theraputic, especially if you can take your time, I sometimes think the wealthy miss out on some simple pleasures in the name of having it all done for them, I personally need something to do, I cannot sit round being waited on, its nice for a novelty but it would get on my **** full time. Its like anything, if you do it all one you have no frame of reference to compare it to, if something is normal it doesnt feel like a treat or a luxury.
I sometimes think that people with too much end up kind of having done everything, like the Diva type pop stars and models, everyone waiting on you (Don't look miss Campbell in the eye ffs) telling you how great you are, the best of everything without waiting, like having a cheat mode on a game, fun for a bit but ultimately cheating, i think we need to strive for things a bit, sometimes the yearning is as pleasurable as the getting.
A lot seem to think that winning will make you happy, it won't, if you are a miserable **** you will just be a rich miserable **** who now doesnt have the lottery dream to hanker after either, I think well balanced people who win a couple of hundred grand, perhaps a million are the ones who have it sussed, not the Mickey carrolls etc. I think some people just cant handle it, it alienates them from their normal peers to a certain extent but no amount of money buys you access to another social level, people who are used to having money arent going to want to know you just because you now have 25 million and the ones that do want to know because you are minted arent the ones you want to know anyway.
I would like about 750k please, that should do, few nice holidays, not enough to move, not enough to give up work, enough to buy a 911 turbo, couple of classics and have a few quid put by, ok perhaps a few quid for friends and family, not too much as you could end up cocking up their lives, didnt one lad buy his best mate a Ducati that he promptly killed himself on ?

But Flightman, as soon as you have paid off 10 peoples mortgages and given them £100k each you have gone public! Unless you write non-disclosure clauses into the 'gifts' and enforce them, which wouldn't happen. That many people cannot keep a secret.
Your only hope is not to tell anyone that you have won, then move house and not disclose how you came into the money. This in itself is a massive upheaval beyond what most people are prepared to do.
Perhaps its best to go public, take all the heat in one session, then get on with your life. After all, how many previous lottery winners can you name, or even the area of the country they were from?

Purely from a selfish point of view, 300k - 750k would see me in a situation that I'd like. It would mean the house, cars are paid for, and all debts paid off and a fair chunk in the bank.
It wouldnt change me
As for going public .... would i ****. Theres nothing worse than other people knowing your business & wanting to poke around it. I made my own luck & people that know me understand that.
Although 25 mil would be a welcome addition

I know winning won't make me 100%. I know I wouldn't want to give up work and would probably end up starting my own company. With that kind of money in the bank, I couldn't work for the present company, I wouldn't care about the hole it would leave in the team, I'm close to leaving anyway.

- Pay off my mortgages (2)
- Pay off families mortgages + 5K a month for life (15K month total)
- Give closest friends £100K each
- Give close work colleagues £50K each
- Give my brothers ex-wife £10
- Treat the lads to a "No Expense Spared" top quality experience at Darlings in Prague
for a week a year, Ad Infinitum - Pay for Pete L / Sunny to have a full mental health checkup
I wouldnt pay off anything in full. I dunno how much 25mil would generate in interest each month, but im sure it would be enough to pay mortgages/loans/lease some very nice cars and live a very comfortable life on.
Too many people blow millions of cash and end with nothing in a couple of years. I'd wanna make sure whatever i had, stayed in the bank for that rainy day my gran told me about lol.

Dam tlk about tight lmaolmao or is it clever
Hmm - interesting one about giving it to family; I can see how it could cause no end of problems.
For example, I have a sister, who's great, but her husband is a lazy, money-grabbing, geek. I know if I gave her any money he'd have it spent on some super-duper walk in X-box / Play Station lounge in no time which would pee me off big style. Maybe I could send her & her girls on a holiday and pay for him to have an accident whilst they're away?
Ditto cousins - of the two I have, one's sensible with money, the other's a complete spender - yes you could give them both the same amount, but can you imagine the whining from the spender at family dos once it's all gone and the other cousin still has hers safely tucked away.
Of course, this presumes I have any spare from my OH's spending spree that would include a large farm with acres of paddocks, a string of horses, Oakley horse box, full stables set up, etc. etc.
Sod it - the answer is obvioulsy to spend it all on me and my mates! Sorted

, is that I'd give to siblings and parents and they'd all get the same in a lump sum. It's then down to them what they do with it but don't come back begging to me when it all goes t$ts up ....As to other family, tough. They can go buy a ticket like I did .....

If it happened to me, I think it is an automatic thing to say it won't change your life, and I think people really mean it at the time. As in my case, It probably means that although you suddenly have more cash than you know what to do with, you don't want to let it change your attitude to life and your style of thinking. Thats a pretty natural reaction I would say.
Of course I would undo the purse strings and do a lot of things which are out of reach at the moment, why not of course-each to his own in that respect.
I hope he makes the most of it when he comes to terms with it. He and his wife appear to be pleasant people.

Hmm... £25mill
- Buy my mother a nice house as way of thanks for bringing me up the best she could, and give her £100k to play with.
- Give her ex-husband a pamphlet on why child abuse is wrong.
- Help my little bro set up his dream - an I.T. business.
- Give all close family (aunts, uncles and cousins) £50k each (big family).
- Pay off inlaws mortgage and give Mrs' dad £100k to look after (not her mum though as she is a total spaktard of a person).
- Give about £250k to animal charities like Jerry Greens, RSPCA.
- Give £50k to a few other charities, like Cancer research, Childline, all things like that.
- Have a hair transplant as I don't like being bald at 24.
- Buy Mrs some new bewbies as she lacks chest confidence.
- Give a couple of close mates £50k to play with/pay off debts for them.
- Next door neighbours would get some ££ for favours/help in the past 18 months.
- Would buy myself a nice house, nothing obscene, 5-6 bedrooms, detached somewhere nice.
- Probably have a holiday home built in Ibiza.
- Buy/run a nightclub to further my DJ aspirations.
- Definitely have a personal trainer on call to keep me from ballooning up due to lazyness.
- Have a very lush (but classy) wedding for me and my fiancee, in a nice picturesque location in the UK (obviously pay for all family/friends to attend).
- Take a couple of well deserved holidays at various locations (clubbing holiday, sightseeing holiday, spiritual etc - see what the world has to offer).
- Season ticket for my beloved Man Utd (not a fancy box, just a good seat on the halfway line at OT).
- Nice sets of cars in an underground garage at said new house. Not sure on what would be in it, but definites are a 22B, 205 T16 other rally cars etc.
- Probably buy a few clothes for myself and give the Mrs a (limited) credit card to go mental on.
- Ooooh, a football pitch and covered terracing in my back yeard would be quite cool.

Of course the other thing that would have to be checked is, would the recipients of your 'largesse' have to pay tax? I'm pretty sure they would so any 'giving' would have to be done in a tax free manner as we wouldn't want Flash to get money for nothing ....

If I was single, I would do this too. Sod the papers finding out, what they gonna do ffs

I'd have something uber fit, uber dirty and uber willing (to do anything to) to play with every day of the week.
Couple pairs of shoes and a Prada handbag would get you many a gold digger

Of course it would change you, but it needn't be for the worst.
Personally, I'd give up work (although not right away) as I have a lot of respect for my colleagues and employers. whe I left, I'd buy them all something seriously cool
I'd buy my parents the house they've always wanted, and a new car each. I wouldn't give them any cash, as they would probably fall out with each other.
I'd pay off all of our close friends mortgages, and clear any debt they had. Nothing like a fresh start and owning the roof over your head, no matter how modest or grand that may be.
And then I'd buy land. Lots and lots of it - around where we live in the Highlands. Build an animal sanctuary for unwanted/mistreated pets/horses/whatever, and a nice house on that land.
Nothing huge, probably quite modest in fact, but built to the highest specification imaginable, with ground heat recovery and solar systems. Common sense really.
Running the sanctuary would keep us occupied and give us something to focus on.
And of course, I'd have a few toys too. Learn to fly a helecopter. Maybe go GT racing.
Nice to dream

The danger is boredom.
What would you do? When I can't think of anything to do with my time in the mornings I often find myself chuckling at those less fortunate idiots on Jeremy Kyle. I would put a large sum of my winnings that at some point I would find myself wondering what to do and end up watching KJ safe in the knowledge that the gap between them and me as increased just that little bit more.

Personally, I'd hire a hitman to take out Jeremy Kyle.
I would try not to be to flash, This is when people tend to get jeleous when your driving round in Ferrari's and Lambo's and living in stupidly big houses that you dont need(come on who needs 6 bedrooms when your only going to use 3 of them at the most), I would in no way go public and to be honest there would be only a few people I would tell I won(Mom, Dad, missus
, brother)
Id stay in the house im in at the moment, just get a few more plasma tv's up and buy some expensive equipment and furniture and spend a lot more on my house. Cars id probably buy some sort of jap turbo car(skyline, evo or scoob) as this is where my passion lies, no need for a Ferrari how many forums and club meets do ferrari owners have compared to scooby and evo owners, this is what I enjoy and im sure I can be just as happy driving a turbo jap car as I would be driving a Ferrari. Missus loves Focus RS's so id have to buy her a new RS.
Id give up work and go traveling more, I love the carribean so id go there more often. To be honest you wouldnt even know I won, id be sensible and just enjoy what I got.
