Depends on your intended use for your car really. I would imagine that overall set-up and driver ability is key, not just one single item.
Remember Rob North has a GT30 on his 2ltr engine (quite laggy), but then he used NOS to give him the extra "zing" out of the tigth bits. Horses for courses, but again, you need to look at the whole package and what the intended use will be.
Didn't need it, you would have been looking for 4th gear in Shaun's car at the speed mark's car tops out in 2nd!

But if you just want to do a "my car is better than your car at something unrelated to the topic being discussed" thing ... then tell me how you would have done, heading back down the M1 for 3 hours with the stereo blaring out, at 20miles to the gallon, with your misses in the passenger seat, and filling up at a shell station, after spending the day handing tuners their *****!!!

He'd beat me in reverse and everything.

Glad the car done good again Shaun, pleased for you. I would have to Simon to "do one" when he begged for the keys.

roflol @ Micky and thanks.
I told you.... I went to the dragstrip at 1pm and they had just closed for lunch. Ask Richard Bulmer, John Felstead, Rob and Paul North.... as they all gave me a load of **** about getting on the 1/4m and Richard said he didn't want me coming back over, until I had got a 10s 1/4m!
I said he would be waiting a long time then!
To think I wasted 15mins of Richard's time setting up the flat throttle shifting on the Friday, which was never used!
Simon did "do one", but luckily it was on the Sprint circuit.

I told you.... I went to the dragstrip at 1pm and they had just closed to go for lunch. Ask Richard Bulmer, John Felstead, Rob and Paul North.... as they all gave me a load of crap, because I'd eaten all their pies. Richard didn't want me coming back over, until I had got at least 10 cheese pasties to make up for it!
I said he would be waiting a long time then, as the nearest Greggs is fookin miles away!

Imagine have a car you've poured thousands into, being beaten by a car that is worth the square root of **** all, now that would be embarrasing - Ask SteveBT - the excuses are still flowing a year later.

That's why Shaun hides from the drag strip.

But i,m fairly sure infact positive if paul had brought his OWN car and specked it for elvington (not for time attack) it would have beaten shauns.
I can see a re- run of this track for pink slips

Would beat Shaun's road car, which he drove up to the event, and back from it, parked up in the hotel overnight, locking it with the central locking, and listening to the stereo... on road tyres, on low boost, (about 480BHP on a good day), FULL interior, and 100% normal road fuel, straight out the pump....
Yeah.. I would bloody hope so!!
So you're saying a 700BHP, fully stripped and prepared light-weight RACE CAR, on slicks, and trailered up to the event, geared and set-up for the specific course, and running on E85 BIO fuel, etc, etc...

Again shaun great results to keep up with stripped out clinics cars is excellent
Oh sorry, I thought we were talking about Scooby Sprint here. And it seems like you didn't need third gear to do the results you got.. I wouldn't have needed third gear either if I'd wanted to drop all that time, to get down to the performance of your stripped out race car!

Are you telling me, that for the mere price of a fully stripped out race car, having been worked on by several of the uk's specialist subaru tuners/guru's, a guy on standby with a laptop, a tank of bio fuel, a trailer, and a navara...
For this tiny investment, I can have a car I can't drive on the road, can't fill up at a petrol station, doesn't have a stereo or carpets, and can ALMOST keep up with a Tracktive / AET / Litchfield developed road car, as long as you put the totb handling circuit winner in the driver's seat!
Where do I sign!!!?

What amazing companies have achieved this masterful engineering feat???
