Mrs still unsure bout driving far in it, she was car jacked a few years ago in a different scoob and so associates it with Subaru. Wanting to do track days also and feel the STi is too good for tracking, looking at a Megane R26. Tried one yesterday and loved the handling, which is what i prefer rather than straight line power. So nimble and agile, Mrs liked it. Yeah i know the Megane is ugly but seems that it would be more fun Cant stop staring at the scoob tho

You gotta do what you gotta do... If you want a track day car then the R26 is pretty much ideal... I couldn't live with one every day though but I do 12k per year in my scoob, you're averaging 3,750!

Been debating for 2 days what to do!!! Just cant justify keeping a car i dont use, a car wife frightened to use(she just puts up with it for my sake i think). Everytime i look at the STi tho..... But hey, just a car, and if i dont like the megane i'll get summat else. Couldnt even justify getting the mrs summat else, same predicament, i have a company car.

I can feel the car now if you know what i mean!
Throttle response has been dramatically changed, car is more 'drivable'
Car is not a daily runner more a weekend toy so i am happy

Thanks for sound clips. Pity the interior noise has gone up a lot - had 6 years of not being able to talk or hear the "hi-fi" in the last scoob so not quite the exhaust for me.

PS Cold air intake (Litchfield) and other goodies for sale on
Litchfield cold air intake, STi headers/uppipe, STi turbo, STi TMIC, STi 550 injectors

Cheers Mick, had to move quickly or i would have changed my mind again. We traded the blob for the same reason thinking the hatch was a bit more understated, gets alot more attention. Which unfortunately is unwanted. Getting myself a Megane R26, see how they go, for now.
Paid alot more for the hks, but hey.
Carlos, same as on website, got side fins, genuine model, still box etc.

ALREADY!!!!

You chop it in against the R26? (if you did you should have stripped some of those bits off!) You;d have got £150 minimum for the lip spoiler, £100 for the CAI...all for the sake of 30 minutes...The garage would have not cared (I did the same to my old STI... made no difference to the trade in)

Definately get a lot of attention - I've only had my 330S just over 1 week and I've had more attention fron onlookers than I'd care for.

There's not that many hatches over here and I reckon i've only ever seen 2 others on the road.

Sent you a PM by the way Lee

someone has to be the first ...

So far people are treading carefullly with the hatches (and rightly so) but gradually the experience and to a degree bravery will extend the boundaries just like it did on the 2.5 in the hawkeye.

Still 360 + bhp is relatively simple to do and is well within what the turbo can do, time will tell what the pistons can cope with if mapped det free.

Hello everyone.

I ordered my impreza diesel a few weeks back, but it won't arrive until later half of august(it's insane lol).
Seems like a quite popular car, atleast here in Sweden.
Anyways, I wanted to ask those of you that own a diesel about a new exhaust.

What does the boxer diesel sound like with non-standard sport exhausts?
(like cat-back or just another muffler)
Anything like the petrol version?
I'd love to have some of that "burple" sound in the diesel aswell.

If the pistons are as bad as people make out then why don't Subaru do something about it?
Is the previous hawkeye 2.5 engine really that different to the hatchback 2.5 engine?

Hard to tell... we have some cars happily blapping around with 20k+ on the clock...and others spitting the dummy at 4k..

Some running 380bhp+ running great..and others breaking with stock 295

I think the 2008+ pistons are a lighter design than the 2007...some are saying they are not strong enough at the edges as a result.

Shame, because the rest of the engine is

yeah but i was comparing it to the stock standard non ppp exhaust, the hatch sounds different from the hawkeye, must be the sound proofing.

The radio has been greatly improved over the last one also

Hope that helps

I'm really happy with the car
I must take some pictures of it, but basically it looks like this
http://i670.photobucket.com/albums/v...5/IMG_3729.jpg

And its also got the optional front fogs fitted, bluetooth mic and WRX STI mats.
Rallyarmor V2 flaps (Black with grey logo) are on the way.

PS - don't support anyone knows the procedure with regards to the UK wacking their tax on top?
I think its basically 17.5% vat that I pay?

What ever trans atlantic courier service they use will bill you directly for what HMRC deems acceptable..this is usually done before they deliver the goods..to insure prompt payment!

It's usually closer to 20% all said and done.

StrikE - I currently have the Milteck system, which compared to standard is not noticeably louder inside, which means you can't enjoy the exhaust note, but can talk and hear the radio !! Really would like an "inline" exhaust (which surely has to be more efficient) without much increase in loudness.
