Just had new tyres fitted to my freshly coated summer wheels, can anyone recommend some black wheel nuts? Will i need radius ones? I spotted these but I'm not sure if they're any good.
Scoop mounts .....I don't know if this kind of rust is specific to spec C aluminium bonnets, but it's worth checking, because as the clip rusts and expands, it breaks the plastic mount. Or you do, trying to remove it. This took alot of korrosol and shock and unlock, and careful manipulation
I know i seen those . I haven't got £140 to splash out on nuts though, I'm looking for something a bit more affordable.
I got Muteki steel ones, they've rusted but still work. It's a false economy to get the light alloy ones, as they lose their threads really easily, in fact I think they are illegal in racing.
I've been doing a lot of searching and most are tapered seat. The ones i posted in the link I've since found are also tapered. I've come across a few posts on here but some of the links are dead and yes people advise to avoid aluminium ones. Honda do oem black nuts but they're m12x1.5. So at the moment I'm looking at other manufacturers .

Interesting. I had the scoop removed to be repainted and the bodyshop didn't mention anything untoward, I'll check mine.

I was thinking of getting a set of Enkei duralumin ones. They look identical to the Rays duralumin (discontinuted) which I used in the past in the FSTi and they have been fine even on track (in the sense the nuts didn't become loose).

Thats all that salty sea air down your neck of the woods! to be fair id my scoop off the other day fitting the blanking plate and the 2 bolts at the front showed signs of rust but not as bad as that. its a bit of a water trap along that leading edge. small piece of fresh felt/sponge would create water tight seal as i think the factory felt wears/weathers over time
Mine definitely needs a new foam strip. The only plastic trim that I haven't removed now is the boot mechanism trim; at the time I baulked at it, but now it looks dirty compared with everything else, so it had better come off
I was surprised at the amount of mud that was in the rear bumper.
Everything is now fitted though, I'm running out of jobs to do on the car now lol.
Looks great. I've got two sets of those wheels and I think they really suit the hatch.
I'm definitely going to make cleaning out the sills and bumper a regular job. Did you check your fuel filler pipe under the arch liner?
It's all in the thread. Prep is 90%, cleaning, wire brushing and decreasing. Bilt Hamber hydrate 80 as a rust converter, BH geox C to strip rust in situ, BH Dynax S50 for cavities and covered areas (strongest anti corrosion properties), BH Dynax UB for all exposed areas (brown/ black) UC clear for visible areas

Whiteline Redranger, who are main distributors based in Scotland, are sending me new strut top mounts, no quibble.
And as I found all of the Bilt Hamber products so good, apart from the hardness of the clay bar, I sent some pics and a thank you to them, and Peter Bilt is sending me a soft clay bar as a thank you.

When i had issues fitting the whiteline inserts Redranger were great at exchanging them for the full bushes. No questions asked and fast delivery i was happy with their service, especially as we're in lockdown.
