Yes they are still going, but there have been a few IT problems on the admin side which could be why you've not had a reminder e-mail. The payment site was also down for the past month, I was due to renew at the beginning of September and have only just managed to pay... But the service was active all the time.
Cheers guys, logged in OK this time and paid ok, so all well and good!!
After owning my Uk300 for 12 years, I left scooby ownership for something a little quicker. A 650bhp GTR R35.
This is now sold to put the money into a new house, and I've now been offered the chance to return to scooby ownership with a 2010 WRXS hatchback.
Firstly I hate the grill. So if I go for it that needs to be swapped. What after market grills do people have for the hatch? Pics please.
Then what mods are best to go for?
Looking initially at dump valve, induction kit and exhaust then eventually map
Hi all, I know this is the hatch thread but my MY11 320R saloon is up for sale and I thought it may be worth mentioning here as I moved from hatch to saloon myself, it's going in for a full service (inc fluids) and MOT this weekend so will all be sorted for the new owner.

Hi Mate,
I had a wrxS in white a few years ago, I had a new exhaust fitted, new panel filter and a re-map and it made a big difference, below are a few pics
Hi guys, front tyres are wearing pretty bad. Have got Avon ZZ3 on the standard sti wheels. Been on here since i got the car. I dont mind the Avons had them on a few of my imprezas.

Just put my winters on (Nokian WR's - very good). My summer tyres are currently Toyo T1S (average at best, but they were on the car when I bought them). I used to like Toyo's on my classic but think new age are too heavy for them. They will be changed in the new year but I can't decide between:
1. Vredestein Sessantas (seem to get rave reviews on here)
2. Dunlop SP600 (supposedly designed for the Impreza)
3. Michelin Pilot Supersports.
Or just go the whole hog and get Yoko AD08R's

Anyone got experience of the above on a hatch?
Thanks bud. I know theres so many tyres and everyone has there own preference. I had avons zz3 on my classic and falkens 452 on blob eye and never had an issue with them.
Ill do a little research on the ones you suggested and see what i can find.
How many people can tell the difference between a good tyre and a very good tyre? I can tell difference on a soft tyre, crap plastic tyre or bald tyre but certainly never pushing the tyre limits enough to say this potenza is better than the previous goodyear etc
The tyre tests are standardised people's opinions ain't.

Yes, I agree. Perfect example of this is the summer tyre test in Evo a couple of months ago. They compared 10 tyres and scientifically the Conti Sport Contact 5 was the best tyre. However, it's not the tyre that felt the best subjectively.
I'd of thought a tyre with a wet rating of A or B is the one to go for.... seeing we live where it rains and you need grip on wet roads.
Yes, sensible logic for your everyday car. However, I was curious to try something a little more sportier (eg. Dunlop SP600 which were standard fit on hatches, stateside at least if not here). Also standard fit on GTR's. (Like a more modern RE070). However there wet grip is D or E I think. Now I am sure they are not dangerous in wet conditions at legal speeds. You will just need to err on the side of caution when pushing on. I have winter tyres also so don't have to worry about using them in cold conditions.

Hard sidewalls
Excellent dry grip & wet grip not so much bothered about the later, the car will find grip with AWD
Not bothered about noise or fuel economy ratings.
I ran Pirelli's for a long time and could not fault them, However at 4mm tread depth they disappear to no tread in what appeared to be no time at all, I also survived many winters on them too.
I find the Dunlop's on my new sti very good in both wet and dry and seem to wear at a very agreeable rate, I wouldn't hesitate to refit them again.
id agree with the XL rated tyres for stiffer sidewalls on newages and hatches
For me its always been about getting a set of tyres that fits my budget. ill do a fair bit of internet reading on them but dont take it all as gospel then just i buy tyres in sets of 4 then rotate so i tend to stay with local suppliers as you can haggle with them a lot
purchased a set bridgestone S001 XL on my hatch after running them on my hawk(found no issue with them at all in the 2yrs i had them) - and because i could get them fitted for £400 on hawk, and then for 425 on the hatch
as for the EU Tyre test markers - A is always best
Fitted the mirror-magic today and am very pleased - it's the little things eh?!? Also as the top of my headlamps were getting a bit dirty and I don't fancy cooking them I bought some eyebrows and Plasti-Dipped them and the top of the front grill. Got the same ZunSport grills but in black on order along with some black winglets.
Next it's wheels, do I get mine refurbed in black with some spacers to widen the stance or any suggestions on replacements?
