Tolleshunt Knights Village Fete

Sunday July 12th

ScoobySue over on Scoobycity is arranging a Scooby stand for up to 30 cars. For all that want to put there cars in the show Sue is asking for a £3 donation (payable on the day) and all proceeds go to the running costs of the village hall which is a registered charity, sorry this year they will not be doing their own BBQ but there will be food stalls at the fete.

Sue is looking to do trophies again like last year for cleanest, best in show etc and also there may be a chance to win a holiday on a mini cruise to France which I will confirm details of once the ticket has been finalised.

So who is up for it? Just up the road from ABW so not an early start.

I can't see it being a problem but will run it by Sue.

The reason they aren't doing one this year is that they had a lot of no shows that had said they wanted food then let them down. I was eating all day long trying to stop any going to waste.

I know that we won't have that problem as the ESC BBQ culinary expertise is world renowned. How many Michelin stars do we have now?

Bring on the kebabs.

I was thinking how to try & make this easier for Spally

It's likely that not everyone will PM or email details etc in time & there may be the odd no show by ones that have. Plus a lot of the cars may not be familiar by sight to Spally. It will be a nightmare trying to match cars to details on the spot on the day & then get the cars to go in to the ring in the right order.

What do you think of this :-

Those that want their car's details read out write them on a bit of A4 & bring it with them. Only the basics as there probably won't be time to read out a full spec sheet in the time it takes to cross the ring. I can draught up something to print off & be filled in if we decide that's what we want.

The list below should be plenty & if the time needs adjusting you can either start singing to pad it out a bit or just move on to the next car's sheet if short of time.

Colour & Year : 1999 - 2003 - etc
Model : WRX - STi - TypeR - Stealth Wagon - etc
Power : BHP & no fibbing
Wheel size : Standard - 18" - etc everyone wants to know what size alloys you're running
Brakes : Standard - Brembos - 335mm front discs - etc
Suspension : Standard : Coilovers : ARB :
Exterior mods : STi spoiler - Front splitter - Waist spoiler - etc
Exhaust : Standard - De-cat - Sport-cat - Blitz - etc
Any special outstanding feature you think is worthy of a mention : Trackday warrior - 0-60 time @ Sant Pod - FMIC - Flamer - Roll cage - Grill lights - etc
Please not - Fluffy dice - Magic tree air freshener - Tartan blanket on parcel shelf - School run monster - etc

As each car drives into the ring the sheet is handed to the man with the mike. He reads out that car as it drives across the ring. Then as the next one comes in he takes their sheet & does the same & so on. That way you get the right details with the right car at the right time. I think.

Does that make sense?

that sounds like it would make my job a whole lot easier Mark.

Also 1 other thing, when the flamming show starts, rather than having all cars facing the same way, would it not be better to each rear facing a different side of the ring. This way everyone sitting around can clearly see the flames???

Anything to help out the master of ceromonies.

Does anything need adding or removing from the Spec sheet if not I will draught up a blank so people can print it off?

I will leave a waffle area at the bottom which can be for "emergency use only"

Good idea on positioning the flamers.

If we have 3 again we can go for a formation.

Smile PASSES PASSES PASSES

Right guys I have just received the final copy for the 2009 pass to get our cars into the fete. Each car going to the fete will need one printed off to show at the gate. Anyone not got access to a printer let us know & I am sure we can get a few extras done.

While your printers are warmed up if you want Spally to have something nice to say about your car you will also need to do one of these. Please write or print clearly. If you don't do one to hand in as you enter the ring he may just have to improvise & start singing & you wouldn't want that.

Examples of what & what not to put :-

Colour & Year : 1999 - 2003 - etc
Model : WRX - STi - TypeR - Stealth Wagon - etc
Power : BHP & no fibbing
Wheels : Standard - 18" - etc everyone wants to know what size alloys you're running
Brakes : Standard - Brembos - 335mm front discs - etc
Suspension : Standard : Coilovers : ARB :
Exterior mods : STi spoiler - Front splitter - Waist spoiler - etc
Exhaust : Standard - De-cat - Sport-cat - Blitz - etc
Any special outstanding feature you think is worthy of a mention : Trackday warrior - 0-60 time @ Sant Pod - FMIC - Flamer - Roll cage - Grill lights - etc
Please not - Fluffy dice - Magic tree air freshener - Tartan blanket on parcel shelf - School run monster - etc

Cheers.
