The council car park I have to use for work has just increased the price form £2.40 for an all day ticket, to £2.65! Gits!.......means having to make sure you always have loads of bleedin' 5p pieces on you now.

Not bleedin' likely!

Those thieving gits have had more than enough money off me over the last 3 years! If I can't get a space in the long stay part (they're aren't that many), I have to park in the 4 hour bit and move it at lunchtime. If I am on first lunch break (I never know until I get in which one I'm on) It means I have to move my car when it's only been parked there for 1.5 hours, but I've had to pay for 4. If you get my drift. And the buggers have ticketed me twice when my ticket has flipped over in the car when I've shut the door. Appealed and got away with it both times though.

Genius.
Not sure where the gas guzzler comes into it, but if you have £5 in change on deposit for a year in the car and save £1, I make that a 20% return or 20% cost avoidance depending on how you look at it.

Not bad in todays economy

Perhaps Darling has forseen the nation adopting the £5 bag of change model, kick starting the recovery - jusifying his 1.25% growth by the end of next year pie in the sky forcast
