Do you ever read Impreza magazine? Ever visited a Japanese tuner? Ever went to the Tokyo Auto Salon?

So, screw it, do not try telling that you guys there in the UK know more about Impreza's (or Skylines, Supras, Evo's Fto's 3000GT's, Fairlady's, NSX's) than the Japanese!!! OF course your local teams use Motec, Gems etc, because it's local European made and they are biased towards their products just like everybody in Europe is.

One of my first comments was about the chips on your shoulders - they are obviusly way bigger than I first thought - you seem to think it's a foregone conclusion that people must respect you and your car. Does your "local product" arguement, not apply to the Japanese too ? I've already said, that in the right hands the F-Con will be a good product, but that doesn't mean to say that it's better than a Gems, or a Pectel, which are the chosen choice of rally teams around the WORLD, including PRODRIVE.

As for the UK companies that you obviously have a grudge against, I doubt either of them would consider themselves "engine tuners", as neither of them would claim to map ecu's.

You guys have NO IDEA what's being done in the UK, or what's been achieved, because even though the Japanese chose a UK company to run their WRC team, and that nearly half the F1 teams are also based, and run by British guys, the Japanese "know best".....

You're entitled to your own opinions, to express them, and to buy whatever you like, but, if you're too ignorant, or lack the mental capacity to intellegently discuss other peoples views, and opinions, how will you ever learn.....

Mr 370. I'm not taking sides here, but have to suggest that the response you have received might just be down to the attitude you came in with. Most of the folk who have posted are normally *terribly* reasonable and I've even (whisper) seen one or two admit they were wrong in the past...

I'd like to see pictures of your car, because it sounds interesting and I hope you're not flannelling because that would be a shame. I'd also like to see it in action, but can't advocate racing on the roads because, well because it's stupid, actually.

So I'll make you an offer. I'll rent a convenient plot of land. Say, Kemble as it's got good grip and shedloads of run off. I'll bring a camera crew and some timing gear. You show what you can do and we'll post a link to the video and figures on this very board to silence the critics.

Or, of course, you could take up the gauntlet and go to Bedford as suggested before. I *guarantee* you'll get a warm reception and your credibility will go off the scale if you show you can walk the walk *AND* talk the talk.

Well, I would like to continue arguing this issue, but it's glass-crystal clear for me. It's not that I have a special grudge against UK companies but the whole as everything evoluted is just so damn s****y.
First in all your deep knowledge you have and having the monthly choice between 2 biased mag's (EVO and Car that is) who shouted the Impreza being the absolute must have followed by a wave of importing of all kinds of Japanese performance cars. Seeing the damage they have done in the Uk as everybody just went craze to have an import they hassld to play down Japanese cars, whereas thousands of "tuners" arose (just try to read the Scoobysport introduction, impossible for somebody like me who met with a whole bunch of Japanese tuners, not to get tears in my eyes). It almost seems that the Impreza whas actually made in the UK.

Ok, the Japanese use Prodrive or whatever, do they really have a choice? Or are Japanese products so welcomed in Europe in general?
Isn't the European press known for dowturning Japanese cars, hence the typical reputation of the interior being plasticky, or quotations like "The design was not made by Bertone, but.....".

Yeah ok I may have no idea what's being done in the UK, and really knowing what's being done in Japan, I almost confident that I don't really NEED to know whats being done in the UK (and reading this board, not very much that is)
Another issue : is the Subaru or Mitsubishi WRC team ran by Japanese anyway? I'm not so sure....therefore of course they use Motec etc...

So to give you all a hint, save some money, have a trip to Japan and open your firmly closed eyes, nobody knows the Impreza's better than the makers.

And if you don't have anything better to reply thatn "I don't want to fight an unarmed man" or "if I'm too ignorant and lack the mental capacity" then return to page 1 and find out who has a lack of mentality, pissing off a guy that fit the right products and producing a figure that your local backyard tuners will only dream to achieve without blowing everything to bits.

I'm open for discussion but if someone starts to downturn products such as HKS (have a look at their racing records) then sell your Imp, and buy a Cossie and join your local gang.

I was at one piont on this thread feeling that S370 was getting a little too much abuse from the "regulars" on the bbs but After some of the unsavoury comments by S370 I feel that his time on the board (and possibly this planet if this car fails to produce the goods!) is limited

Craig, Evil and the rest of the gang have been tuning their cars to the same level as you for a long time and know the right and wrong things to do to Scoobs. All of us on this board have the highest respect for them as they are willing to share their ups and downs with the rest of the scoobynetters ( remember that this is one big family - much love and no S***E!)

S370 - chill out and take things with a pinch of salt. No-one on here was trying to be anywhere as malicious as you have ended up being. If your car can genuinely but out that power then I take my hat off to you. But are you willing to prove it?

Lets all try to get along and keep this board as it should be - a group of freinds with good cars helping out each other to get the best from their cars - that is why I joined in the first place!
