Update:

Went to the Bucks Rolling road day at DSA Aylesbury. (Dyno Dynamics). Organised by Wimpy, great morning out with them & our MSOC lot as usual
ps SleeperSy blasted us all way with 569bhp IIRC!!!!!!!

This time I put in some fresh V power/ changed plugs which were misfiring last time/ put in 37psi in tyres & car wasnt hot when it went on rollers.
Mangaged 343bhp & 405 ft-lb of torque (550nm) Not bad out of a 2.0 litre engine!

Though power at top end wasnt very smooth & fluctuated around a bit. Problem put down to, most probably a 'Neutral position sensor' on gearbox which was causing slight loss of boost every so often. Seems a simple fix with a washer bunged in to stop it intervening & with that fix power curve should smooth out to 350 bhp, the guys at DSA reckon. This IMO would be the approx max for the VF36 turbo & anymore than 350bhp on my car would require a bigger turbo & more £££'s. Overall happy with results & the fact that after Powerstation remap I am getting an extra 50 miles out of my fuel tank!

ps Shaun & Gussy & others: boost seems to be dropping down to 1.3 bar at top end could this indicate my uprated Forge still actuator not strong enough??
Saying that Rich tested it & said it was fine.

I would also like to know what uprated actuator is best for the vf37/36? Anyone know? Is it actually needed?

Why is your boost spiking like that? I'd smooth that out, I've been tinkering with a V-Power map I have and on DD RoadDyno I make 285/323 @ wheels, I think 360bhp on V-Power is defo possible.

Have to admit, having been out in this car yesterday after we changed the plugs, the exhaust sounds sweet, especially booting it through tunnels. The Forge actuator makes some rather nice chattering noises - I would be tempted to run one on my WRX but as I'm planning an upgraded turbo it would be a waste of cash at the moment.

Despite the banter Ricky, that torque figure explains why it pulls so well in all gears

What colour spring did you go for on your Forge?

Not sure, I asked for the more powerful one of the two in their range. Will check. What do you reckon of boost dropping off? And not sure why boost is spiking to 1.7 overbbost

I think they do 4 springs, I have the blue rated spring at 12.5psi crack, I'm not convinced with it tbh. 1.7bar is a bit high, I'd be a bit worried about what it's doing in 5th and 6th gears. Do you have the MegaRom?

Its meant to be peak 1.6 bar but seems to be overboosting to 1.7 ECU has megarom but not mapped with it yet.
The actuator was the 1.3 bar one IIRC, not 100% though.

I had an actuator supplied by turbo dynamics and it held fine. No problems with boost tailing off.

Forge do 4 springs, in order of hardness RED - BLUE - YELLOW - GREEN
Not sure of the PSi ratings but when I had one I opted for the red (hardest) spring as I found it held boost better

I'd be surprised if your NPS was faulty tbh. Was the run done in 4th or 5th gear?

Not sure but can ask others from Bucks DSA Rolling Road day though.

Its just getting to that stage now with this turbo that I can see myself fine tuning & fettleing away with actuators & then remapping etc to gain a maximum of 20bhp at most & maybe not get such good torque figures. The time & money involved in doing this is making me think I would rather leave it & maybe next year just go for one of Ians new drop in bigger twin scroll turbo upgrade packages instead. Iv done most of the other bits needed for this apart from injectors & turbo & I could probably sell on my VF36 with uprated actuator. (In an ideal world I would have hit the button first time with these mods & got 360bhp, but this is not an exact science unfortunately )

The guys at DSA said the neutral position sensor fault is quite common & Iv found it here too:

Thing is if the NPS was faulty your AVCS wouldn't work, i think it would be more obvious.(lower torque) Could be wrong though.

This fluctuation in power was happening right at the top of the rev range & max torque was reached earlier, lower down at approx 4,000 revs. (Before drop off in bhp)
??Not 100% though?
